Their competition level was shite this year.

LSU with Kiffin should be able to get an elite QB from the portal.

I think if you go look back at the games against the better defenses OM faced, you’ll see he had pretty damn good outings. His completion % could certainly be better.

Maybe he’s not elite per se, but I think he makes the guys around him better, and that’s tough to quantify. Ole Miss is not in the CFBP without him.

Im not a fan of Chambliss either. I mean he's obviously better than what he had this year but he isnt a great passer at all. He is a gamer though. I wouldnt be mad if we got him, just kinda neutral.

Kid plays hard and you can tell he’s a gamer.

I do think he has a ceiling with his limitations though

Often times we judge a guy’s play by considering his NFL potential. Chambliss is not an NFL caliber QB, at least not right now. But he’s a darn good college QB and will likely get better if he gets the waiver this week.

I’m guilty of this, in particular with his teammate Austin Simmons. To me, he looks like he has an NFL future but it’s not really debatable that Chambliss is a better college QB right now.

Either way, it’s a strong possibility that one of those is LSU’s starter next season. I’ll be ecstatic to have either.

Was Burrow or Daniels elite in year 1 of their time here? I believe Chambliss can duplicate a year 2 improvement here because Kiffin is the common denominator.

He has shown signs of getting rattled in big situations as well.. With that being said he came from a D2 school to OM and was not the season starter. Gets thrown in week 3 when Simmons goes down and has lead them to an 11-1 record while playing pretty good for the most part. I’d say he’a done pretty well!

Joe and Jayden were not elite....Until they were.

What would Chambliss look like with another year under Lane and lots of hard work in the VR room over the summer?

It is all about potential and having the inner drive to take advantage of the tools/facilities and coaching to reach that potential.

I'm sure Lane will have his choice of several QBs, some of which we have no idea exist, and he will choose wisely.

He doesn't have to be elite to get you to the big game. He's more than good enough to get you to the NC. He did it in the SEC against some of the best defenses. You have no idea if a guy like Leavitt despite his high end NFL talent potential will do in the SEC. Chambliss is safe and easy pick. You know what you're getting with him. Ceiling might be higher for some guys in the portal but do you want risky or safe? I'll trust Kiffin on this. He knows QBs.

They're going to need multiple guys so it's reasonable to look at the lower ranks to give a guy an opportunity behind whoever the big get is in the portal. So maybe you find another hidden Chambliss that's cheaper in the portal for depth.

I think he’s a pretty good option. Accuracy is a little bit of an issue, but he doesn’t turn the ball over and he makes good decisions. He reminds me of Khalil Tate from Arizona back in the day, I think he’s a better passer than Tate ever was.

I’m with you on elite. He’s definitely not elite, he’s good and has potential to be better. He’s more of a system/team QB, and will excel as the guys around him. With that being said, this O line has to be multiple times better for him to be as good as he was last season at Ole Miss.

They put up 69 points against Georgia and Oklahoma. Tennessee put up 68. Alabama was the next highest scoring opponent against either team and they put up only 45 in the two regular season matchups and 7 in the SECCG. They were right there with Tennessee as the best offense in the conference.

Who is this mythical elite QB you think exists out there? There ain’t gonna be anyone better than Chambliss.

Chambliss leads the SEC in passing yards and has led Ole Miss to an 11-1 record and home playoff game with a subpar defense in his first season starting in the SEC

Out of your MIND if you don’t think he’s elite

And he has a top 5 QBR in the entire country. I don’t understand, I trust him more with his experience than other options. He seems efficient enough in Kiffin’s offense.

Question of the day, in these modern times where words aren't really used as they are defined(great, generational for example), what exactly is elite? Many around these parts thought Nuss was elite. We dont really seem to be the greatest judges of what it looks like.

And no Chambliss isn't elite. He plays better than Nuss but im not sure hes more elite than Nuss is. Just a better fit for Kiffins offense than Nuss was for ours.

And no Chambliss isn't elite imo. Hes a good fit for the Kiffin offense though. Sometimes that means more.

If we was elite he’d go pro this year.

A&M's QB is unlikely to be a good pro, but he's still a good college QB. He still put up 25 TDs and nearly 3k passing. Nearly 500 yards rushing with like 6 TDs as well. He had 10 INTs though. Chambliss with only 3 INTs is impressive.

My concern is guys coming off injury even though anyone could always get injured. Or those playing at a lesser level of college football.

Chambliss has the experience and did it in the SEC while under Kiffin.

I trust whatever route Kiffin decides to go though. I think bringing in a 2nd option is equally important.
