I’d say I knew within 6 months, so I don’t disagree.

According to a new study, it takes around six months, or 172 days, for a person to decide if the person they are dating is marriage material. Researchers polled 2,000 coupled and uncoupled people and found that married and single people have very different ideas of how long it will take them to find the person they wanted to marry.
I’d say I knew within 6 months, so I don’t disagree.

Day 1-not sure she thought so, though

Not long at the ripe old age of 16, that was 28 years ago.

It takes at least 2 years for people’s true crazy to show.

If I had waited 6 months, I definitely would have chosen a different path.

Hard to say because I knew mine well before we started dating or considering marriage, but it didn’t take 72 hours after we did to know that she was marriage material.
I’m still waiting for her to realize that I’m not but so far so good.

It usually only takes 6 months for someone to stop with their best behavior and let the psycho loose.

When we met I was a 27 year old full time student and broke as a joke. She caught on pretty quick that I didn't have money and told me that she didn't mind paying for dates if it meant she got to spend more time with me.

My husband went home & told his mom after our first date (we were 15/16) that he could see himself marrying me. She laughed at him. 29 years later I think she was wrong…

You can’t possibly know enough about someone in 6 months to decide you want to spend the rest of your life with them.

Spent 14 hours with her first time we met, and told my roommate at the time that I met my wife.
Married 2.5 years later. Do not regret.

It took us a year and a half to get married... but I think I knew he was a keeper within 6mo.
26 years married next month- best decision of my life.

Two months for me. My mil said she knew I was the one for her son as soon as she met me. That was 40 years ago, and we've been married for 39 years.

Then by day 2922 you figure out that you may have made a mistake.

The average length of a U.S. marriage varies, but statistics often point to around 8 years for marriages ending in divorce, commonly linked to the "seven-year itch"...

One of my friends is getting a divorce after 15 years. He was the one who filed.

The moment I saw my wife I knew......I was in love and wanted to see her naked.
But to be sure we lived together for a year and a half before I asked her to marry me. Been married 21 years.

Yeah, I think that's about right.
If you marry prior to the end of that two years, the craziness will reveal itself within a few months after the wedding or around the first Christmas, whichever comes first.
It is said that a man marries a woman thinking they'll never change, but they always do. A woman marries a man and thinks she can change him, but she can't.
