And yall think he goes to Bama?

Enjoy the next 5 years. Lane will entertain the NFL at some point. Who cares.

And if he goes NFL but wins a title or two in 5 years on the way out, he’s earned it without any criticism. He would have accomplished his goal here and cemented his own legacy

Best? Saban's class that included Marquise Hill and Marcus Spears is hard to beat.

He has already coached in the NFL. I don’t think he wants to go back.

They asked him about the NFL on The Pivot, and he said he preferred College Football. He said in the NFL you can walk into a locker room after a game and not know who won or lost the game. It's not like that in the college game. He feels like it matters more, and that's what he likes about college over the NFL.

I do too! I hope he stays here for the next 25 years! If he keeps taking care of himself, he would probably coach longer than that.

Not unless he wins a natty or two. He wants to be among the greats in the era of CFB. Even if he wins one I still think he will be hungry. If he wins two then I could see maybe scratching an NFL itch. Unless he wants to do what Pete Carroll. Win a natty and a super bowl

Hopefully Lane sees LSU as his chance to be in the Saban conversation as one of the greatest CFB coaches ever. He can get players, has access to money and has institutional support, LSU is one of a handful of universities where a decade of dominance is possible

You may be but....

I am ALL IN, I see the hook/sinker & I'm taking it to the gut.

I'm not sure how long Coach Kiffin stays but LSU hasn't had an offensive play caller like him. I say LSU/Kiffin will draw players at a much higher level moving forward!

I'm also guessing Saban told Coach Kiffin to challenge his "career trophy collection," Coaching at LSU.

I know coming out of a bad relationship can make one venerable but it's been too long since LSU was legit. Coach Kiffin is the Knight in my eyes wrongRob doesn't give a shiznit!

The NFL is a circus, I don't know why any coach would leave a great college program to go to the NFL and coach. Especially now with college being just like the NFL almost. Yes, there are a few wrinkles to work out with scheduling and other things so we don't have this situation again that happened with Lane. But the NFL is a washed down woke trashy arse product that's getting worse and worse every year looking more and more scripted. The rules are changing and not for the good you can tell it's just an entertainment organization. More like the WWE. At least college football still has some luster left and some passion. The NFL don't care about nothing but money, that's why you have games at 8:00 in the morning now. I barely even watch Saints games anymore, the no call game showed me the light on the NFL as far as fixing games. I really could care less to ever go to the dome again and sit there and watch a saints game.

How old are you like 12? LSU has had some truly dominating defenses in the past. This might be a great team but to say this is the best we've seen might be a stretch.

Think he’s talking about the recruits and their rankings not overall lines

If Lane truly views Nick as a mentor, I believe he desires to duplicate that level of success. You can already see how he comes off in interviews is very Sabanesque compared to his past. Ironically, he has a chance to climb the mountaintop at the very school Saban has said he never should have left. Now, we get to sit back and enjoy the ride.

I only see the NFL as a potential place he might go. His dad coached in the NFL for so long, who knows if that is something he would like to get back into. But I would not be shocked if he chose not to take that route. It obviously didn’t go well for Saban/Spurrier/Meyer…Pete has been the outlier. To be honest, the media shite storm, and the propaganda machine being pumped out of Ole Miss to make him look so bad can only help us. It’s gonna probably make him park it here for a little while. Let’s hope for a very long time.
