Tulane boards going nuts:

Blake got a better offer from Memphis (NIL). And LSU is still on the table. His family is tired of moving

To be continued…

Would you honestly want to move your family to NOLA? ( I know BR not much better)

He will be a much better coach if he learns from Lane for a couple of years. Can you imagine having to scheme against his offenses? It would be like sparring with Mike Tyson

Why rush into being a head coach? Brent Venables had a nice long run as a Clemson’s DC and is doing just fine in his first HC stint at age 54.

People forget Baker’s wife played soccer at LSU. They’ve got a young family and I’m sure she’s happy here. I’m not sure I’d want to move either. frick it, I wouldn’t mind being a lifetime assistant if I’m making that kind of money and I’m at a big time program. Will be interesting to see what he decides.

Uptown, vs anywhere in BR, is a no-brainer

The expectations are actually crazy high for Tulane right now. Playoff bound. Fritz and Sumrall have raised the expectations.

I'd move to Gonzales or Mandeville.

The money just isnt there for Blake

Hes making 2.5M, with an increase incoming. If he goes to Tulane for say 3 years and fails, then hes only ahead 3M. He then has to look for a DC or position coach that will not pay him anywhere near what LSU will. Or an eventual P5 job might

He could be in the red for a spell, until he gets his DC cred back. Look at Will Muschamp, hes back to being an analyst.

The margin is just too slim between LSU and Tulane at this juncture

I agree with the rest of your post but Muschamp is only an analyst because that’s what he wants to be. He’s made plenty of money and is tired of the grind

Anytime that he wants to do more Kirby let’s him (see 2022-2023)

There are plenty of good money areas around Memphis like Collierville and Arlington and Hernando and Lewisberg in DeSoto County. And that program has a lot more money behind it than Tulane. But I am confident they are just being used for leverage.

They need to commit more NIL money. Baker does not need to settle. He’s in a great position.
