My theory is that borderline people often die around Christmas because the days are short

Less sunlight and more darkness. Perhaps the cold has something to do with it also.
Do you agree with this theory? Anecdotally it seems like many people pass around Christmas each year.

People do get depression in winter.
Here is something borderline to cheer you up!

Borderline Personality? Someone who is suicidal with BPD experiences suicidal ideation pretty consistently throughout the year.
That said, yes people can struggle with the lack of sunlight and cold weather because it typically forces them indoors/isolation. But that's true for a lot more than just people with BPD.

If you mean mental health borderline, then yes. There’s a lot of statistics to back it up. The highest suicide rates are in the northern latitudes. However, I don’t think there is a “holidays” causation. In fact, I’m pretty sure that it’s a myth.

What an uplifting Christmas post for this season.

Hmmm...interested to see the OP's empirical evidence.

My very sickly neighbor died Christmas Eve last year... which was a shame, he was so much nicer than his bitch arse wife.

Borderline as in aged or bad health then yes. I heard that from the Hospice people.
Plus I think SAD and loneliness get many.

Old school Madonna always reminded me of a sluttier Elaine from Seinfeld.

A lot of elderly people die soon after significant dates, such as holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries.
Its like they want to make one more birthday, one more Christmas,, and when it's past, they pass.

I’d guess it’s more due to being a holiday season where they see everyone is happy with their families, which can make them feel even more depressed if you don’t have that

I believe things as you are writing can be extremely consequential at the end of life. I've had hospice nurses tell me that even sudden atmospheric pressure changes can be devastating.
