Most Undocumented NOLA Migrants Came There to Rebuild After Katrina - Now Throw Them Out?

This came directly from NOLA locals interviewed on NPR this morning. It raises a good point - the city was devastated 20 years ago and couldn’t have bounced back without thousands of laborers.
Do we now turn on our neighbors who helped rebuild?
Something to think about…

Come in the right way. There is more than enough for those who enter the right way

Oh I’m going to cry I guess we shouldn’t enforce immigration laws anymore

Why have they not applied for citizenship in 20 years?
You know why

Emotional arguments can be effective so I don't blame illegal supporters for trying it to win their case.
Deportation is tough, but necessary.

Hiroshima was devastated and could not have bounced back without importing thousands of Central Americans to help rebuild.

Katrina was over 20 years ago! Why are they still undocumented? Why does it take over 20 to finally get around to throwing them out?

I think you’re overlooking something. Let me repeat, 20 years ago.

Dishonest propaganda term that informs others you aren't interested in discussing in good faith.

Wrong.
Catholic Charities brought the bulk in under both Obama and Biden. They partnered with the Texas, Louisiana and South Florida Dioceses to relocate them once the Feds brought them in. They all received funds from the Feds to do so. It was terribly irresponsible as many were minors or barely 18 with no family in the US. They ( both the Feds and Catholic Charities) asked all three states’ social services departments to approve the minor’s relocations and authorize benefits for all (SNAP, TANF, etc).

Also because they stole jobs from Americans 20 years ago, we should be more lenient?
Weird take.

With the reduction of profits from contractors, yes it could.

Plus, trump repeatedly said that he was going after "the worst of the worst". The immigrants who helped us certainly are not that.
So trump lied, again.

Not really.
When I had my roof repaired after Katrina, it was by a local who had been in business here for decades.
He was more expensive than the illegals, but he did excellent work…and stood by it.
He was also available fairly quickly.
That is my experience anyway.

Most?
GTFO
The numbers ballooned under Biden.
You are a moron.
Go back to grifting with your federal “job.”

You are a sad little cuck, they need to go back and rebuild their own nations.

They didn’t come out of their kindness…. They came for work/money.
And “undocumented” is PC for Illigal
Just use the correct term and you answer your question……

Are the people you are advocating for paying taxes? Have they made any effort to become a citizen?
I know of one who does not even have a DL, but owns a nice truck and work van. He never retained an immigration attorney to go through the process. He is a good guy, but now he is freaking out. I was told by his mutual friend that he does not pay taxes (he thinks its stupid) and no one at his church pays either.
Its like cheating at life on tests, relationships, etc and then when you finally get caught, you throw an emotional tantrum and point the finger/claim to be the victim.
On the other hand, his sister in law has been going through the process for years, had hired an immigration attorney, and pays taxes. She has all legal documentation to be here, but is not yet a citizen. That part of the system is broken also. She has her next court date in three years. That is absurd. Nevertheless, you still need to make attempts to gain citizenship or residency, and not hide out, evade taxes, and stick your head in the sand.
The system is so broken that the only way to fix it is to go all in. This is the result of decades of kicking the can down the road. You can blame politics for that.
