Would the hypothetical of Ed Orgeron at Tulane be at least a small concern for LSU?

I do not think he could take the five stars from LSU but might convince other pieces important to LSU to come to Tulane. What of Frank WIlson joined him?

Lions (or Tigers in this case) do not concern themselves with the opinions of sheep.

Nothing Tulane does is a concern for LSU other than hiring away its DC as their new HC.

In modern times, Tulane and LSU athletics have always and will always operate in two completely different pools of water.

It's a great educational institution though.

One being in the current Top 25 and one not?

One with two chances since 2022 to play in NY6/CFP games and one not?

There's plenty of schools in and around the top 25 that aren't on LSU's level. If Tulane played LSU's schedule they'd go 4-8.

They'll get destroyed in the first round of the playoff if they make it. LSU at 7-5 would give whoever they play a better game.

Shows you how screwed up the system is, doesn't it? Participation trophys, and all. Considering the competition, a 7-5 LSU should be ranked ahead of Tulane. Not because, LSU should be in the top 25,but because Tulane shouldn't be in the top 40.

Folks responding did not read. I do not see Tulane competing at close to an SEC level but Orgeron has enough recruiting skill and connections to at least be a nuisance for three and four stars/

Tulane would have beat with no issue:
LA Tech, SLU, WKU

They beat teams that beat this season:
Arkansas, Clemson

Like their chances a ton against South Carolina and Florida.

Baton Rouge and Oxford were too much for O to handle. I cannot even fricking fathom what kind of trouble a man with his impulse control issues would get into living & working in Nola.

oh yeah the transitive property always works well with rent-a-wins. Also both of those teams are absolutely horrible

Orgeron is a complete non-starter at Tulane in a head coach role. This is just Mackel doing his agent a favor.

That Up Town Tulane crowd will never hire someone like Coach O. Vegas Vince, the riverboat gambler type, never fit in with the St.Charles Ave. fan base, Coach O has the same image from their perspective.

I am sure Ed would land a few guys we wanted, but I doubt it would be much to really matter. I assume most top prospects would still prefer the SEC. There are always the Travis Hunter types, but they and their situations are the exception.
