Bloomberg article.

Will look for link and update when I find one:

quote:

The Trump administration is poised to announce new fuel efficiency standards for automobiles in a bid to undo requirements it has assailed for driving up the cost of new cars, according to people familiar with the matter.

No shite. Toyota completely ruined their reputation for reliability trying to make the Democrats happy.

I do not need all of the technology that is found in cars or trucks today. Great stereo, motor, shocks, wheels with michelin tires, ac/heat, and a steering wheel.

Just abolish it and all the other fuel bullshite.

And get rid of ethanol in gas.

Let the market decide what people want to drive. If they want a EV or a V10 gas burner they should be able to buy what they want.

I wish they would do this. If I only got one of the two, I'd opt to get rid of the EGR fart rebreathing system before DEF, but DEF needs to go too.

Good. Start putting a spare tire back in all vehicles.

And for the love of God can we finally grow a pair and get rid of the ethanol in gasoline requirements?

I'm partial to the throttle body injector systems they started putting in everything in the 90s, but that's because carburators became the bane of my existence.

So go back to that era of tech and I'll even happily go back to manual locks and windows. I'll be damn near to good.
