Those guys would be among a few others at the top, but the truth remains, this is LSU. You don't so much have to get the hire right, but you surely can't get it wrong.

Phil Parker at Iowa should be your first call. Nobody has done what he has done over the past 10 years, especially the past 5 with a severe lack of talent.
Defenses consistently top 10 in scoring and are very efficient.
He’s been at Iowa forever and probably would not leave, but you make the call.

I really like Knowles, but I would probably take a shot at Durkin first. He’s been great in the SEC and has worked with Kiffin. Also like Baker, he built a defense that rarely cracked, even when the offense couldn’t do shite.

I actually went down this rabbit hole the other day. Jeremy Pruitt is currently a PE coach at Plainview High School in Rainsville, Alabama. It’s his HS alma mater.

I agree Jim Leonard would be a real good hire if indeed Baker leaves. But somehow he strikes to me as a Midwestern guy and would he be open to coming to Baton Rouge? Pay aside ofcourse. His defenses are legit!
