That A&M game still stings bad. With Gov. Landry calling out the performance and then Kelly getting fired that weekend and then Coaching Changes board getting initiated..... What a ride indeed! :dude:
Definitely can get behind this. I say the chances of this happening is reasonably promising. He definitely can scrape through 9 wins season there and with his lake house in Michigan he can go there on a vacay whenever he chooses to.
This is a best place for Coach Brian Kelly actually. I know he had some issues but he can definitely resurrect that program with a guaranteed 9 win season with their schedule. I think Michigan may actually consider him given they always look for someone with HC experience. I don't think there is anyone good in the market as of right now as everyone that would have been good are pretty much taken. Kelly better not go on vacation/.golfing if he is considered if at all.
Likewise Wolfcola. This quality of this class is just better than we signed during the Kelly era. Makes me think that having a proven quality coach and with LSU's fertile base can only get better. If we could have gotten a couple of more OL dudes would have been nasty really. Still :geauxtigers: :pimp:

Missed out on Cooley. OL is where we need dudes now. Praying we prey on the portal when that opens up. :geauxtigers:
Position where we need these big dudes and we miss out. Darn it! Are we targeting some other kid? BAMA always!!!

This is real or made up troll? Man Cooley will be a TRUE miss is this is true.
I beg to differ here OP. Why do you think Coach Kiffin would leave LSU to go become a head coach at a Program that is of similar stature as LSU? LSU has similar if not better resources and access to in-state recruits as Alabama’s. DeBoer knows that Penn State fired a coach that got them to Play offs not too long ago. Also the word on the street is Penn State is also struggling a wee bit financially.

Coach Kiffin, i am sure thought this through before accepting the LSU job. I truly believe he is here to stay and if he starts winning big he will be worshipped here and could be a Saban like figure albeit some goofy stuff he does via Twitter here and there which actually quite frankly is entertaining.

I think this common belief that DeBoer will go to Penn State if they came calling and then CLK taking up the BAMA job should be put to rest. Now i am not ruling this out as an impossible situation but rather see the probability of happening being very very low.
Ahhhhh.... There goes Frank's role. This all points to one thing. Frank is being shown the door. Man I wish Frank stayed. He is viewed as a family guy and all these young recruits in the NOLA area come to LSU for him if I am not mistaken.

Can we hold on to Frank somehow?
Honestly, Coach Baker is a hot name out there. I will be surprised if he came back as a DC for us next year. With CBK every school sees him as a "Washed Up" coach and might not make that "Splash Hire" outlook. I don't even think he has that stigma to coach at a very high level. He has his 54 million to go into sunset and enjoy his beach house in Michigan.

One thing he can consider is to join as an analyst in one of those FOX/ESPN/CBS etc.

CBK is basically done. Penn State could have been ideal but they don't seem to do us any favors looks like.
Pot belly development and golfing and making lack lustered hires by promoting ZERO experience guys as coordinators and showing no sense of urgency to go get big dudes at the trenches and the list goes on...

Had it not been for JD5 in 2023 that record would be different. We missed a big chance to make noise that year.
Well they missed the boat and this makes sense and confirms that they are not looking at any coach that is in the playoffs. They might remove the interim tag and keep him for 2026 and consider that 2026 season a wash and could possibly look at someone good depending on the coaching landscape. They should have gone after Hartline. Oh Penn State.. You guys fired Franklin to do this at the end?

Exactly! Heck even Tulane wouldn't want him as they have raised their bar on excellence and they are not ready to settle for a 8-4/9-3 seasons. Tulane considering CBB solidifies that point.

Are there reasons to believe that Penn State is looking at Diaz? Duke would a great fit for CBK and with ACC not all that great he would make it look like him being a solid hire.

At this point no where. His best option is to look at smaller schools where 7-5 to 8-4 record would be considered a great season. I was thinking with that BYU coach backing off he might be a candidate at Penn State. But looks like Penn State is playing a waiting game which definitely means they are looking at one of the coaches that is in the Playoffs.

For CBK Michigan State would have been an option but they went in a different direction. So all points to his options are limited and our buyout of 54 million can help him walk into sunset sooner than he would have hoped.

If only that dude showed up and coached.
Given Brohm & Key are sort of at their Alma mater I doubt they will leave. Penn State is really in a bad spot as far as getting someone good. Like you pointed out, going the interim route for now until someone one becomes available and considering 2026 season as a "Wash" would be the sane thing. These Penn State Admins really messed this up.

This is good and CBK to Penn State now seems a realistic possibility. All the good ones are taken. Penn State doing Penn State things. Really not sure what that Athletic Administration is doing waiting this long.
Penn State firing is amusing tbh. I think they didn’t realize that this many SEC schools will be looking for new coaches. With that BYU coach backing out they are really screwed. Hartline or bust it looks like at this point.
THIS!! CBK will be a perfect fit there at Penn State. Winning all scrub games and then losing the big ones to Ohio State/Michigan. Can keep that Franklin trend moving along. :dude:
Really not sure if Will Muschamp will be a good choice. Modern day offenses are very dynamic and I think it will take CWM some time to adapt or may be will be tough going.

Too many blitz packages and I think CWM's success depends on having a solid D-LINE which LSU can recruit itself. We may have some similar Baker Defense issues in containing running QBs.

I am not sure if CLK will go that route given he already has ties with some top level guys in the business.
