Riedell is plugged in at Tulane, and with Baker interviewing today (and supposedly crushing it) I wouldn't be shocked if he's agreed to the job

Seems like there's buzz that he has. Kinda expected Napier to get that job, but we'll be fine if Blake does indeed leave

Good for him, hope it works out.
Wonder who Kiffin has lined up….

There’s definite buzz around Baker to Tulane right now. Trickling in on my end.

He doesn't think the 15 ranked defense based on points is good enough.

With the worst offense in LSU history for that matter

He could do so much better than Tulane a few years down the road.

I hope we go after Durkin I like his defenses. Lane should be familiar with him too. I think he'd leave if offered.

Durkin would be target #1 for me.

GT DC Blake Gideon is someone who's worked under Lane and coached safeties for a few years at Texas, he may make some sense as well

Durkin is getting paid a lot by Auburn but I don't think LSU honestly cares. They'd just up his salary. He'd be a short stay but if he has HC aspiration why would he not go to LSU? He'd be dipping into a huge NIL pot money for talent on his defense which should make him look good especially behind Lane's offense which you know will be good too. I'd imagine there's more opportunity at LSU right now than staying at Auburn especially if they up his salary.

Just wasn’t impressed with his defense when it mattered. Always gave up big plays when we needed stops, and that didn’t even include his poor planning for running QBs.

I think we’d be good to go in a different direction but I’m indifferent. Not worth paying him to leave, but if someone “took” him then i wouldn’t be disappointed

bit harsh. Most teams struggle with running quarterbacks and also that defense created turnovers and did everything to win games… if the offense could actually score more than 21 points. Bit unfair needing perfection from the defense to always win.

Sumrall was there for two years and parlayed that into the Florida job. That's a pretty good trajectory to put yourself on.

Durkin is going to be Lane’s choice as well.

This! The baker staying for a few more years at LSU to find a beter HC opportunity went out the window when this happened. Good luck to Baker at Tulane.

Selfishly I am hoping we get at least one more year of Blake at LSU for both his defense and recruiting. He’ll have his shot at a head coaching position whenever he’s ready, potentially at a better gig than Tulane, with superior money for staff and NIL.
