They’d all beat Arkansas.

No.
JMU ain’t making it, even if Tulane loses.

Piggyback off a tweet to find the most extreme outlier example of what could mathematically happen in a rare instance, and then - ultimately - feign outraged?
I assumed you were a loser for posting in this site. But jeez, I once it outta the park here.

Why should Duke get in at 8-5 (if they win the conference title) over an (if they win the conference title) 11-2 Tulane team that beat Duke?
I mean if James Madison wins the Sun Belt at 12-1 it’s not their fault that Duke sucks.
This might not be a popular take but if they go with 16 teams I feel like conference champs should get in. They shouldn’t get top 1-10 rankings but you should be rewarded for winning the conference. It would also make conference title games mean more (if they decide to keep them).
If power conferences are going to clutch their pearls because a non power conference gets in then perhaps the power teams shouldn’t schedule non power conference teams.

Duke won’t get in
If Duke wins it would put the winner of UNT/Tulane in. Along with JMU.
Winner of Tulane/UNT is in regardless of the ACC outcome

The ACC should have had their refs ensure SMU won that game. They led late. A simple holding call on Cal would have saved everybody.

I haven’t checked to see if Duke is making the ACC conference championship game, but I was pretty confident that Duke wasn’t getting in.
My post was more about saying Tulane and James Madison are more deserving of a playoff spot than Duke.

And this right here is why the selection committee and rules for this are flat out retarded. The top 12 get in. Who cares about conference championships

The 5 highest ranked conference champions make it into the playoffs automatically.
1. Big 10
2. SEC
3. Big 12
4. AAC - UNT or Tulane
----JMU (Sun Belt) makes it into playoffs as higher-ranked conference winner over Duke (ACC)
JMU makes it in if they beat Troy and Duke beats Virginia...right?

Tulane doesn’t deserve to be in. A G5 with two losses including like a 40 point beat down from a team in the playoffs says how dos that belong

Imagine if Troy and Duke win...who would be the 5th ranked conference champion...Boise State in Mountain Wesf???

Probably UNLV if they win it and go 11-2.

A little off topic-the Seattle Times headline describing the aftermath of the UW vs Oregon game: Huskies quack under pressure.”

This is stupid. Bama got smoked like a pack of Kools by FSU yet no one is bitching about them making the playoffs. Tulane had one bad week. Their body of work is enough to put them in the playoffs based on how totally week of a field across the board CFB is this year.

4 team playoff was fine, ya'll wanted expanded playoff - here ya go!

will they prove to be, in old fashioned words, cannon fodder?
