I don't understand why everyone on here is crowning him as the second coming. Honestly, have yall looked at his stats or you just see a young dude that has enthusiasm and think he's immediately ready for a Top 5 job in all of football and is ready for his first chance in the SEC to come as our head coach?

Dude’s team is heavily penalized, lacks third and fourth down production, and rode the back of Skattebo last year.

His record as a HC is 21-15.

3-9 year 1
10-2 year 2 (skattebo)
8-4 this year

Currently ASU is:
37th in offensive yards/game
77th in offensive points/game
33rd in defensive yards/game
44th in defensive points/game
103rd in 3rd down conversions %
101st in red zone scoring %
110th in penalties/game
93rd in penalty yards/game

Make the honest argument for him to me.

Very average in a weak B12. I don’t understand the hype

They've played half their games with a back up QB due to Leavitt being hurt

It was pretty bad dude. Herm Edwards left a fricking mess, including a 5 year show cause for himself and 8 year show cause for Antonio Pierce

With better talent he could produce better results. See what he did at Oregon.

I also hate when people say “he was only good because of Skattebo“ as if he wouldn’t be able to get players of the same caliber of Skattebo at LSU.

Nick Saban was only good because of Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry and Davontae Smith and CJ Mosley and Tua and Julio and Amari Cooper and Will Anderson, etc

He reminds me of another Napier type candidate. Could be good but simply hasnt coached that long to know one way or the other.

LSU can afford to look elsewhere.

Fair argument.

I think most are just falling for the name and image (young /enthusiastic) combined with the reality that if we fall to the field, the chances of us being competent enough to make a good hire are low.

Having said that ASU was decimated when he got there and getting to the semifinals is a legit accomplishment.

It’s hilarious. People with ding him for having success with a 4th round draft pick running back but praise someone like Sark or Heupel for having similar success with much better players…

Well you can’t even get his record for the year right. They are 8-3 playing half the season without their starting QB. Chance they make the b12 championship

And yea everyone was beating down the door of sac state for skatt.

Might want to go look at his record as OC and understand the situation at Arizona State and what he took over. It was a program on probation with scholarship limits and a bowl ban.
