I predict a little higher than that. 35 million up front with no strings attached.

Kelly isn’t getting the full amount. It will be mitigated.

TVM has it at 44mil, but then again that is without the requirement to find a job, I think we will settle some where at like 35 mil over 3 years

What would be the reason to take much less?

Yep. the Original $25 Million cash offer to walk away and be done with LSU.

PV = $45.7 Million at 5% discount rate.

Potential required mitigation clause jobs = estimate at least $3.5 million per year for 6 years or more? so $21 million offset by mitigation.

or take the $25 million and go get drunk and play golf.

The figure will be determined by his next job.

Whatever the contract says; since when is this subject to negotiation? If they want to hire a new coach they have no options here.

I expect it’s going to be less but somewhere in the $20 million category.

Everything is always subject to negotiation.

Why not keep him employed as a janitor and make that POS earn it

If Kelly wants to Coach again he's going to have to except some terms he may not agree with, like his new salary mitigating a piece of his buyout. It won't be the full amount.

I think the buyout states that we will keep paying him monthly. Once he gets a job offer then LSU can buy him off with a lower lump sum. It will basically be bonus money for him at that point.

Of course...that's just a guess.

Guaranteed pot regardless of him taking on a new job or not.

Contract says Lsu has to pay in monthly installments over the next 6 years and BK has to look for a job that will mitigate.

Negotiating gets the money upfront for the coach and eliminates mitigation. BK can retire if he settles.

If BK wants to retire, it will be 35-40.
