Who is the meanest or scariest person you've met?

A buddy met Mike Tyson in a boxing gym post biting off Evander Holyfield's ear. Said he exuded danger.
My grandparents had a store in downtown Athens when I was in elementary school. They would let me hang out there during the summer while my parents worked as long as I minded my business in a corner and read a book.
My grandfather was a man of his time, survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, and never showed any emotions unless he was angry, which was most of the time. One afternoon a man walked in to buy a book. My grandfather was at the cash register and I could tell he was noticeably nervous. For 9 year old me to notice anything like that meant it must have been obvious. The man chit chats with my grandfather, makes his purchase, and leaves. My grandfather waited for him to clear the block then turned to me and said, 'That was Howard Sims. He is the most evil man I've ever known. If you see him in the street, turn the other way'. I said, 'Yes sir Paw Paw' and went back to reading my Hardy Boys book. It really didn't register with me at the time.
Years later in college, I'm watching a documentary on Lemuel Penn's murder in Danielsville, Georgia and I'll be if Howard Sims picture didn't come up. He was a Klansman who followed Lt Col Penn's car from downtown Athens to the Broad River where he pulled up next to it and executed him.. Howard was murdered himself not much later after I met him.
It seems pretty tame compared to the stuff going on today, but I'd consider anyone who scared my Paw Paw the scariest person I've met.

I’ve met a couple of contractors that were for sure murderers. Could just tell they had no soul.

So, seemed like he always showed emotion then.

The one with the gun pointed at me. He scariest is always the one in the moment. I've spoken with murderers and they arent that worrisome when confined.

Don’t forget Big Jim Walker, he’s a pool shootin’ son of a gun, or Willie McCoy, aka Slim.

Played golf with a guy who claimed he had been a Ranger. Pretty big guy. His movement speed didn't make sense compared to how chunky he looked. He was really friendly but you could tell the dude could handle himself.

He's meaner than a junkyard dog.

Every mornin' at the mine you could see him arrive
He stood six-foot-six and weighed 245
Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip
And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to big John

I've told the story before about a retarded giant of a man picking a fight with former heavyweight ufc fighter Monson in a local bar when I was 19. I had to pick one to carry out. I picked Monson.
I picked him up off the ground and just kept saying out loud, I'm just carrying you out...and had the utterly terrifying realization that if he wanted to, he could kill me. Not maim, not knock out, dead.
It was like carrying a side of beef. Just solid, no give no nothing.
He apologized the following day and busted out laughing mid apology when I told him how scary it was. In his words, no one carried him like that since he was a kid.
Worst part is, I was so god damned scared doing it, I can tell you everything single thing about the encounter... But I can't remember if he was heavy or not.
Meanest: the giant who was trying to kill him. He's close to 7ft than 6. About 500lbs. A coke/meth head who is an alcoholic. And legitimately retarded. I've seen him carry a fullsize outboard in one arm.

My wife. She was the sweetest, most gentle person in the world. But once we got sideways she would rip you a new one.

In my youth I knew the Sons of Silence (biker gang) local chapter Vice President. Had the names of all the guys who died while active members tattooed in a list up his forearm and disappeared into his sleeve. The Vice President was the top enforcer. All he drank at the bar was coffee and was a very quiet man. Tall and lanky. He always came in alone. Maybe that was his space to get away from it all.
The first time I met him and after he left the bar, people came up to me and asked me “Do you know who that was?” I said “No, should I?” They then filled me in. I didn’t really notice what the patches on his vest were at first.
After that, all I would talk with him about was the weather briefly and then left him alone.
