LPSO: 14-year-old charged in murder of newborn after infant found in a tote
quote:

On Friday (November 21, 2025), LPSO deputies were called to Our Lady of the Lake (Walker) after medical staff reported that a 14-year-old female, seeking treatment, had recently given birth at her residence.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, “LPSO Deputies then relocated to the home (located in Denham Springs). There, it was discovered the teen delivered the baby and then placed the infant in a ‘tote’ to conceal it.

When emergency responders located the tote, they discovered the baby inside - deceased - with extensive injuries to the neck. The 14 year old female was originally charged with Failure to Seek Assistance and Obstruction of Justice in the death of her newborn daughter.”

After a weekend autopsy, it was confirmed the manner of death was homicide.

Sheriff Ard says, “Medical Personnel believe the infant was carried to full term, born alive and killed immediately after birth. It is believed the teen did conceal her pregnancy from family.

The teen is now in Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center facing an additional charge of First Degree Murder. As you can imagine, this has been a difficult case for all First Responders involved. Please keep them - and, the family - in your thoughts as this very sensitive investigation continues. Due to the nature of this case, no further details can be released at this time.”

Without a doubt. Society is better with the whole family locked up.

Not defending f the 14 y/o geo. Her actions, but this is all the parents fault.

She was either scared to death of what they would do, or just no supervision / teaching at all.

If you’ve grown up in a halfway normal family, I think a lot of people would
Be shocked how some kids live/ are treated z

It's her parents fault that their 13 year old was putting out to begin with. Destinee, stage 4, Destinee, stage 4.

If a 9 months pregnant 14 year old walks through the living room, I think I'd notice.

To be fair, she was probably obese.

20 years ago when I was working in a south Louisiana emergency dept., a female hospital staff member walked up to me and said, "I just found this baby in the bathroom" and handed me the baby.

We were slammed as usual so I yelled out, "we need a room!" Needless to say, even more chaos ensued.

A teen was seen on camera walking into a back hallway bathroom and then leaving some minutes later...she had the baby in the bathroom. The female staff member went in some time after and saw the baby.

Thankfully the baby survived. I've often wondered how that baby is doing now.

What good comes from locking up a 14 year old kid?

Unlike most of the histrionics we see on here regarding 15-17 year olds, a 14 year old, even for murder, stays with the Juvenile Court system. Not that she won’t possibly be “locked up”, but she won’t be transferred to adult court.

Isn't the point of the penal system to discourage others from repeating detestable acts? I know you think you know what you're arguing, but your mind is in the 80s, when concepts like shame, and beatdowns from parents were real.

You kill a baby, you are objectively a horrible fricking person. You deserve to not be involved in society any longer.

You are 100% correct. I’ve worked in education for years and it really is sad what is normal to some of these kids and what they have to go home to.

She should instantly be put in the military as a mine sweeper. Detecting equipment optional.

Unless the 14-year-old admitted it, i don’t see how they can be sure that the death/trauma wasn’t the result of accidental injury during or after the birth. Nobody was there to catch the baby, she could have had it in a toilet, cord wrapped around the neck, etc.
