“It’s not fair for the players.” Is it fair to the teams , fans , or school when the players jump ship on their teams ? These people make no fricking sense about any of it.

You want to make it a business ? Well here you go it’s a business!

I mean players get destroyed for doing the same thing
Posted on 11/22/25 at 9:10 am to supersaints9
The players being able to jump ship perpetuates the situation

Perhaps signing day should be pushed back

Especially in this time of pay for play.

I get your point, but none of the current Ole Miss players are leaving mid year in the middle of a playoff run.
And if we’re being honest both the players and the coach want to finish out the season together. Ole Miss (I’m assuming here) is not allowing that to happen.
If you truly care about the players, hold a team vote on if they’re cool with their coach being a lame duck through the playoffs while allowing him to accept the LSU job and recruit for LSU. Never going to happen, but as an LSU fan I’d be happy to let him coach the playoffs. Heck, I’d become an Ole Miss fan for the next month.

This is a job, like any other job.
Your loyalties exist to co-workers, support staff, bosses, shareholders, etc. only while you are employed at that company.
I think we all know, at this point, that if things don't go well - then those bosses will sever ties as quick as possible despite how loyal a coach might be to the school.
Therefore, why does the coach have to have this extreme amount of loyalty to anyone involved with the school if a better opportunity comes along?
He doesn't.
Does it suck when it's your school - yep, but it's how the world works. If you can't or don't accept that, then you need to remove your head from the sand.

When they're getting paid it's "Good. It was a racket and they were being exploited. Pay them their fair market value."
When they're being criticized or put upon for any reason it's "Think of these sweet children!"

Their ends no later than week two, the brackets have them A$M then. No chance in hell they win that game irregardles of the Lane situation.

quote:dafuq? Outside of the 1 point win over ND (decent team), who has A&M beaten? OM doesn't have great wins either, but to assume OM would have no shot over A&M with Kiffin is moronic.

I said what I said and I stand by it.OM stands a good chance of getting bounced in the first round and wouldn't get the chance to get throttled by aTm.

College football is no longer a sport of amateurs. Players are paid therefore they should be treated like the professionals

Yes they do and it’s not right. Coaches have been bailing on teams since the beginning of time. Now the players have some leverage. Some coaches have adjusted.
Posted on 11/22/25 at 11:53 am to supersaints9
How many of those players did the exact same thing to their former teams to get on Ole Miss’ roster in the first place? Plus, aren’t they being paid? That’s business.

There have already been players at CFP schools enter the portal before the playoffs. It will happen again this year too
It’s a business now. Everyone is getting paid. Loyalty died. That’s college football now
