Ted Cruz was speaking to the Jewish Federations and claimed that while JD Vance was at Ole Miss a student got up and asked a “Viciously antisemitic question”

Here’s the problem, we have a video of the question. See for yourself:

Here is the two-minute clip of Ted where he talks about the “viciously antisemitic question”

I’m not a Candace Owens guy. I was very much pro-Israel after the fighting started in Gaza. I even defended Ben Shapiro on this board numerous times. I listens to Shapiro, Klavan, Levin, Rubin and others talk about Tucker and thought “Wow, he’s really gone off the deep end with this Jew thing.” But then I listened to Tucker for myself and realized they were all lying. They were framing legitimate criticisms and concerns about Israel as antisemitism.

If you think you are going to force people into Israel’s corner by threatening to call them antisemitic, well don’t be surprise when the opposite happens.

I don’t like Fuentes. I think he’s childish and I think he’s incredibly nasty. But I won’t be surprised if his popularity continues to grow because Ted Cruz thinks everyone is retarded and can be threatened into becoming zionists.

Ted Cruz has done and said things over the years that were highly suspect…. But his absolute devotion to Israel is disgusting.

Cruz claims to be a free speech absolutist… but shams people for raising basic questions about Israel.

Asking these questions doesn’t make us antisemitic… it makes us thoughtful and responsible adults.

Pigs squeal the loudest when over target. Ted Cruz is revealing himself to be a pig.

Their very public support of Israel has the same intensity as all the other countries, companies, and people they’re bought off for.

Why would a Mexican from Canada love a small middle eastern country so much unless they pay him well or have dirt on him

in houston, i think ted cruz went to school at second baptist church's school. his views on israel are pretty much the same as most baptist pastors. the scofield bible had great influence on ted's education/upbringing.

On a related note, check out the Anti-Semitism Act of 2025.
quote:

This bill provides statutory authority for the requirement that the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights take into consideration the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA's) working definition of antisemitism when reviewing or investigating complaints of discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. According to the IHRA's working definition, antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/558

It is very problematic that a law could be passed that uses a "working definition" from a third party.

Hate is an emotion that should be avoided, but do we want our government making laws against it? What a ridiculously slippery slope.

As for Ted Cruz, it was informative to hear him in the Tucker Carlson interview state: “I came into the Congress 13 years ago with the stated intention of being the leading defender of Israel in the United States Senate, and I’ve worked every day to do that.”

Cruz is a politician. In that venue, he was pandering to his (Jewish) audience.

He knows that a simple question about the USS Liberty is not anti-Semitic, per se.

Support for these foreign countries like Ukraine, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, etc. is one big tax payer grift. When will the tax payer finally understand this? Probably never.

I’m no pro-Israel zealot, but are we supposed to be against them now because of something that happened over 50 years ago?

It may or may not have been a mistake, but it’s hard to make the case that this was part of any pattern.

Smart people understand that the geopolitical interests of the United States do not end at our domestic borders.

Never trust a man that lets another man insult his wife and father, then sit down and have dinner and proceed to suck him off for power.

The uss liberty discussion is often framed as some cover-up or conspiracy, when in fact there were investigations by multiple American agencies and the Israelis accepted liability. The people that keep bringing it up (eg Candace Owens) don't do it in good faith.

Asking about the USS Liberty is it about as antisemitic as questioning the ethics and intentions of George Soros. Which means 0 antisemitism. But it’s just asking questions.

Yes.

And this is the main reason both MTG and Thomas Massie were targeted by much of the GOPe.

Next question.

Ted Cruz is a devout Evangelical Christian, and I think that his attitude towards the Nation State of Israel reflects his Faith very well.

I'm pro-Israel, too, but, not because of religion. I want to have a solid relationship with Israel because the US needs to work with them, guide them and rely on them to help the USA keep peace in the region, with Israel as the subordinate and obedient partner in this US-Israel relationship.

And I want Israel to know that we expect the US vision of how war should be waged to govern, and we expect the state of Israel to rein in their own small extremist factions that exist in every country.
