Have been doing a rewatch of the prior seasons since it feels like 10 years since it started....oh wait....first episode aired July 15, 2016. Yeesh!!

I have actually enjoyed the rewatch more than I did when watching the seasons as they came out. Probably due to the extensive time in between seasons and now being able to follow the storyline a lot better than having to try and remember everything. Crazy how watching all these years later has also added different perspective and appreciation for the writing.

I'm on S4 and one thing that caught me in the writing of the first episode was the introduction of Eddie.

quote:

"Getting 86'd" or "86" means to eliminate, remove, or cancel something or someone. The term has a variety of uses, but most commonly means a restaurant item is out of stock, or a person is no longer welcome at a venue. It can also mean to eliminate or kill, especially in a military or law enforcement context.

They told us right away he was going to be killed!

Looking forward to the new season.

Someone posted a theory on the ending that went viral on twitter yesterday and I wish I hadn't seen it, because I think its likely true

The wifey (no pics) has been doing a re-watch and I've seen a few bits of it here and there. I was thinking, "with everything they've seen, these kids should have PTSD or something by season 5." Then, I remembered that they are playing 80's kids.

We were a tougher breed back then.

They'd be too medicated to move if it were set in present time.

I’m doing a rewatch of season 4. Police dept would get sued so hard for questioning eleven with no lawyer or parent present lol

I’m so far behind, I’m still on season 2. Probably going to watch the first part of season 5 late

Yes, your generation would’ve handled being violently attacked by otherworldly creatures better than kids today.

You old fricks have to stroke your ego any way you can

We were the first geneartion that was left alone to fend for ourselves. We did not have helicopter parents and participation trophies. We lived under the constant existential threat of nuclear war. Yes, we were resilient.

There was never going to be a nuclear war in the 80’s
