quote:

Forget about Kenny Dillingham leaving Arizona State.

Linked to numerous open jobs across the country, Dillingham shut down any thoughts of leaving his alma mater after the Sun Devils' 25-23 win over West Virginia on Saturday.

"I was never leaving, I never said I was leaving -- this is home," Dillingham said. "You have to continue to push and my job running the program is to push and push and push until you can't push anymore. And if I didn't do that, I'd be cheating my players. I'd be cheating my staff. I'd be cheating the fan base. I'd be cheating everybody in the city. I'd be cheating the local businesses that feed off of us winning, and then they sell more beer. I'd be cheating everybody."

quote:

"I have a lot of confidence that our administration is pushing all their chips to the middle of the table for winning football here," Dillingham said. "This university is supporting football. This university is really doubling down on what we're doing right now. That's a relief for me. I just want to be able to push this place to its limit."

Guy is from Phoenix and went to school at ASU. It literally is home. Why would he leave that?

He has to say that. If LSU makes him priority #1 and puts the ball in his court there is nothing AZ St. can do to compete with LSU.

More money, more resources, more prestige, more notoriety, better facilities, better players, better recruiting grounds, better stadium, better conference, more money for assistants.

AZ St. I went to school here 13 years ago.

Kiffin is #1, Dillingham is #2 and both would be as close to grand slams as it gets.

Because he’d have to be the greatest coach of all time to win a championship at Arizona State and that is the life mission of almost all of these guys.

Any other brain busters?

I’m not saying who’s coming or who’s not. You do realize people say shite like that all the time and then leave?

I agree, I'm just disappointed that he's so tied to ASU. He would fricking kill it here.

Several reasons.

1. Money

2. Opportunity

3. It's the desert and your house cats get eaten.

4. Money

that seems like a pretty strong statement from Dillingham, but we've seen it all before.

I mean, what's he supposed to say? "Yes, I'm considering leaving ASU"??????

He can't say that, so he issues a denial. It's all coach speak, so don't take it literally.

(Although I do think Dillingham will stay at ASU.)

How old are you?

They lost a heartbreaker to Ohio State in the Rose bowl at the end of '96 season or else they would have won the natty that year. They were in the playoffs last year. It's not a blue blood job by any means but by every sense of the phrase it is a sleeping giant.

It's a huge school, huge alumni base, and has a well earned reputation of having the most talented coeds on earth. They are essentially Florida State of the southwest, and KD can be their Bowden.

They're driving distance from the LA and San Diego metros which are talent hotbeds. They're in play for the polynesian kids. If they can figure out the financial backing side, it's not going to be hard to win there
