Vikings let Darnold and Daniel Jones walk for a guy that was not asked to throw for more than 200 yards in his competitive football career. And he now that he’s not asked to handoff 40 times a game he is lost. With KOC’s history it reeks of a GM or ownership move.

The excessive eye black is tough when you’re playing like Trevor Simien

As best I can tell, he's a guy with all the physical tools and is a great leader, and they just did the classic "we'll coach him up" thing. But like you said, if KOC can't coach him up, that's a huge red flag.

He looks terrible. That last drive was better but I blame 60% of that on a Dennis Allen late game defense.

Kevin O Connell was schooling Dennis Allen a few years ago with Josh Dobbs as his QB.

I actually thought Minnesota would win that game because I liked that coaching matchup.

Well...

So much for that.

He almost killed two Bears defenders earlier who ran into each other trying to intercept one of his flying ducks. Maybe that’s the game plan.

Probably going to go on IR after throwing for 25+ times today.

Nick Mullens had 300+ yards in 3 of his 4 starts in this offense a couple years ago (including a 411 and 396).

In inconceivable how bad JJ is. He has all time worst top 10 pick potential

Jettas gonna demand a trade in the off season. He can't sniff 100 yards with this bum at QB

I never understood drafting him. I never understood letting Darnold walk so he could be given the keys. I understand that Darnold sputtered to the finish line last year, but still.

Drafting him was questionable but they were in a hole after 2024. Not trying to trade him last year while still an unknown was the true frickup

Sunken cost fallacy by GM/ownership

Had to prove they made the right decision

I saw some pretty good analysis around the time of the combine that he is solid on throws in the middle of the field, but has some kind of deficiency throwing balls to the sideline. I'm not sure if that's in his feet or that he can only throw in a straight line.

That decision may end up costing the GM and KOC their jobs in a couple of years. But, let's not forget that Darnold, Danny Dimes, and Baker didn't succeed until their 3rd/4th teams five plus years into the league. JJ might be that kind of guy. But, I don't see him getting into a better situation than he has now.

The Vikings had some drops today, but the receivers were probably just surprised by the throws actually being on target.

I don't blame Jefferson for getting frustrated on the sideline. McCarthy was throwing some ducks.

Darnold and Jones have a combined 13 seasons and 1 playoff win

Signing Darnold to a massive deal or prioritizing Jones in free agency would have been lampooned by many. Acting like the Vikings blew it further with not getting either is rewriting history
