You know they were not planning ahead and setting it aside.

All of them did. And now likely bonuses and money added to their lavish pensions.

Are you suggesting you aren't going to get that pay?

You said I had a paid month vacation. Are you suggesting I wasn't working this whole time? Barely had enough money for gas to get to work. Thank God I had a little savings.

If the money is printed, it takes a little from all the money that everyone else has by making it worth a little less.
Same with the overspending, and the $38 Trillion debt.
In essence, you and I and everyone holding, using, or being paid in $$ are paying for it.
That’s why prices are so high.

Non-homogenous society with high inflation. That has always been a recipe for great success throughout history. Add in high taxes and we are following the Roman Empire playbook.

Was their pay not part of the budget? How were they going to be paid if the government had not been shut down?

Why did you suggest that they all had a month-long vacation?

It's the same as if the government hadn't shutdown. The fiscal year starts Oct 3. Even though they just now funded the government, the budget for Oct 3 through the end of the year has not changed.

I wasn't the one mentioning vacation.

Is any "due" to those who didn't work?

It's written into law that furloughed employees get back pay. Being furloughed, unlike LWOP or any other non-pay status, isn't a choice by the worker.
