Do you think this means LSU Florida and Penn State have their guy selected and are just waiting. Hard to believe these others coaches would pull trigger now without having options to if anything drive up the price.

In general, the less attractive the job, the faster they try to hire somebody. They don’t want to risk nobody being there if they wait too long to pull the trigger.

Different tier of job.

That doesn't mean we'll get better coaches, but we're likely going after bigger names.

My guess is that we need to officially finish with BK before we can “start” a search.

Haven't heard about UF going for Golesh. I've seen people talking about Riley and most of the UF people pushing for Lane. Has their been a lot of smoke about Golesh?

I don’t know about the others, but indications are this isn’t as likely as it was 10 days ago.

Auburn is now more likely to target an offensive minded coach, feeling that their DC will remain if they do. I’d bet it’s Brent Key or Rhett Lashlee, regardless their answers about the job or pending contract extensions. After that it may be the head coach at ASU or Louisville.

I’d love to discuss the possibility on the Auburn Board, but have been denied access again and again and again, in spite of being a family with multiple Auburn diplomas.

Sumrall is still probably the favorite. I would like Golesh as well. I don't believe Dillingham, Lashlee or Brohm are going to leave.

All would leave for what Auburn is willing to (over)pay.

Sumrall doesn’t fit the description going around of “bringing everyone together” because “bringing everyone together” means keeping the DC. Doubt DC stays with that D coach

Well, I think everyone is going to overpay so AU is not alone in that boat.

I certainly see your point and that is why I am liking Golesh more and more. I definitely agree that Sumrall and Durkin would not be a good fit.

Sumrall has been the one constant associated with AU job since before it came open.
