We barely gave MVB meaningful reps until recently. I doubt Hurley plays this year. His college career is nuts. Isn’t he still only 18 after being in college for a couple of years?

Yes, this year. MVB can only play in 2 more games before we waste his redshirt. More than enough time to evaluate if we need portal help while still not burning his redshirt.
That allows us to either start Nuss for senior night, or we can let Hurley play full game to evaluate his talent level.
Feel bad for the kid. BK talked him into forgoing his senior year thinking Nuss would have been drafted and we needed depth.

If there is one position that should never reclassify up, it is QB. It doesn’t matter how gifted you are athletically or how well you process, it makes ZERO sense for a QB to enter college early.
It’s not a position where you are trying to wring as much value as you can out of your body before it gets broken (running backs, linemen, etc). It’s a position where once you have the physical ability, your longevity is essentially based on how much you know, how poised and calm you are under pressure, and how good you perfect your technique.
Hurley’s advisors did him a major disservice by reclassifying him. His clock started when he was nowhere close to his peak, which means he’s just wasting eligibility while trying to catch up.
I doubt he ever plays for us.

I think he would have had a shot to get playing time next year if it wasn’t for the wreck. That set him back pretty far so I doubt he ever sees the field at lsu now.

Why not. There's no downside. I say let them all play. This team is not what we thought it was. We are not very good. It doesn't matter who's coaching, we can't seem to score more than 20. We are the new Vandy.
