'High-income earners' will get left out of any tariff dividend

When will we learn that “equality” and policies that punish those who actually drive the economy are bad ideas?
I’m grateful to be a high-income earner, but it didn’t come easy. I sacrificed a lot to get here. I even went belly up as a home builder/developer during the 2008 housing crash and had to start over from scratch, with zero help or bailout. I create jobs for people, yet somehow I’m the one left out. Why?
I’d be curious to see how much of this tariff revenue comes from high earners importing goods for their businesses. Shouldn’t they get something back? If this is really what Trump plans to do with tariff revenue, how is it any different from welfare funded by higher earners?
Sure, $2K won’t make a difference for most of us here (this board is likely full of high earners), but the bigger issue is that tariffs have turned into a hidden form of welfare. That’s bullshite, and it’s a failure of Trump’s original tariff promises, which were always vague but sold as something that would benefit all Americans, including potentially lower taxes.

Upper middle class pays for everything and is phased out of every deduction or benefit.

It seems to be a weird recycling of money. We’re going to impart tariffs which will make you pay more for goods but here’s some of the increased prices you paid back? We (the government) will pocket the difference and this will eventually make companies onshore widget production?

That's just more redistribution. The very people that make tariffs work get zilch. FYT.

Populists gonna populist, give free shite and cause inflation. How can he call Mamdani a communist when he's redistributing?

Don't worry, nobody is getting a tariff dividend, so you are not missing out on anything.

What is a high earner?
They usually classify it as starting at $200K per year, which really is not a high earner anymore thanks to inflation, but in some cases, they raise it to $400K. We will see what range they put this in.

I , like you, won't see any difference in my life from his 2k check, but it's the principle of being a part of the group putting the most into the system dollarwise and getting nothing back when things go right ..I would love just once to get a check simply for the shear amazement that it actually happened...
What I would really like is to put ALL this towards the deficit and and make sure my kids aren't saddled with debt owed to others by their country.

This is what should happen with all of it otherwise it's more tax and spend just hidden under a different lie.

more tax and wealth redistribution.
more tax and vote buying.
All the same.

If you didn't see this coming I don't know what to tell you. Trump doesn't give a shite about spending and he's a populist; you should have done the math.

What Trump needs to be tweeting is how the tariffs could pay down our deficit and help everybody if Congress would get off their arse and reduce spending.

At least with Trump, I get a good portion of what I voted for. The reality never fully matches the promise, but that’s politics.
I did not vote for more wealth distribution in any form, though.
