He turned Southern Miss around, won 2 Natty’s as Georgia’s OC with Stetson Bennett, coached at LSU briefly under Les, and has had great offenses everywhere he’s been, and from all accounts wants out of Baltimore.

Monken's offense at Georgia sucked if i remember right. Wasn't it bland as hell?

Would be a solid albeit unsexy hire

Based off the recent hiring. This wouldn't be a stretch. Verg doesn't seem like a person that thinks out of the box. More like he would hire someone he already knew.

Got his start in coaching on the same staff as Brian Kelly.

No thanks.

Georgia scored 38.7 points per game in 2021 and 40.7 in 2022. Not too bland

You’re thinking of Bobo

Monken was credited with reviving it then got another NFL job from there

Crazy thing about monken is when Jimbo left, Les wanted him as OC but everyone thought it was Les trying to install a puppet OC and wanted an outside hire. He got the Jags job when JDR noticed how good LSU WRs looked at the senior bowl, I believe

Monken is a pretty interesting domino in the Les miles era if you think about it

But anyway he’s getting older now and obviously chose to pursue an NFL OC job after his success with UGA, I’m assuming he prefers it there at this point and is setting up his NFL pension

He was the OC under Richt too. UGA fans can’t stand his offenses.

He turned Stetson Bennett (a former walk on) into a Manning award winner and Bennett is not a rosterable NFL QB.

would be home run if he would come. He is a offensive genius. He took over USM when it was an absolute shitty diaper fire and turned them around and challenged for Conference the very next year. He would be the outlier Saban type that could win big here. Question is would he leave NFL?

Monken can coach. Talk about Joe Brady being an O mind from the nfl,
Monken is thought of higher by many. The UGA fans out here miss him. Monken came in for James Coley who UGA fans despised. Qb and wr coach under Miles in 05-06. I mean, we didn’t have a cadaver at qb then.

I'd take monken. Has won and coached great offense everywhere he has been.

I just don't see it though.

Will be 60 years old in February...he has bounced around a lot...why did he leave Southern Miss to be an NFL OC?
