“When Republicans underperform tonight”

Has this place still not figured out that the party in power always loses seats and then hands the reigns over to the other party only for the cycle to repeat all over again?
That’s the way our political system is setup. The minority party complains until they’re in power. Rinse, cycle, repeat.
Nothing will change this outside of rare exceptions like 9/11 leading to the Republicans keeping congress in the 2002 midterms.
JD Vance is good enough to be one of those rare exceptions that the Republicans will keep the White House in 2028.

This isn't even a mid-term election. It's local stuff, and mostly in deep blue areas.
The Left are trying to make Fetch happen.
Fetch is not happening.

Yes I’m aware that the midterms don’t happen tonight. Reading comprehension isn’t a strong suit here.
I was referring to elections in general for the party in power. The only time I mentioned midterm was 2002.

The only race that interests me is the NJ governor. It would be great to see NJ turn red.

NJ Governor and VA Attorney General. Would be nice for Republicans to get one of those.

They (MSM or Lying Media) are blowing it up because they are desperate for their bedmates to show a semblance of life. Where ever they find a breath, they will turn it into a fire breathing monster.

New Jersey was absolutely winnable but the GOP fumbled the ball

So you're worried that Dems will have big wins in Dem-controlled areas and that is somehow a signal that Dems will win bigly in the midterms?
Okay.
The only race I'm really interested in is for VA Governor. Winsome Earle-Sears is a strong conservative and such a worry to the Left that the NAACP came out to endorse her opponent, Abigail Spanberger. For those who don't understand why that's a point of interest:
Winsome Earle-Sears
Abigail Spanberger
The Dems are so worried about this race that they've opened the NAACP to supporting the blonde, white woman rather than the black woman, showing that the NAACP is nothing more than a Democrat propaganda group dressed up as being pro-black. Just like the National Organization of Women (or, National Association of Gals as Rush used to call them), when the Democrat candidate is the exact opposite of what they claim to be founded on, they will still support that candidate over the Republican one because they are really just an arm of the DNC.

The only litmus test is to test how hypocritical the left is regarding their positions on dangerous rhetoric. They’ve painted themselves into a corner with a few of these candidates.. all it will do is confirm how crazy they’ve become.

This is not a midterm election, and reading too much into a small sample size in blue states is disingenuous. Of course none of that matters to the narrative.

A lot of politics is not rational but rather emotional and it runs on momentum.
The GOP are just not very good at this outside of national campaigns. The Dems are a machine.
They have been priming this vote and will continue to work the machine to ready their base for the big mid-terms next year.
I predict that the GOP will be swept today, I hope I'm wrong, and the right will lose big next year. Expect to see Trump impeached again after the midterms.
If MAGA wants to win, they have to figure a way to both keep their base happy and keep moderates/independents happy. So far Trump has not been able to do that. He's been focused on issues his base are into. We'll see if he can shift some before the mid-terms.
