I feel like recruiting is the most important part of being an LSU HC. Miles, Orgeron, Saban were all great recruiters. So who would be the top recruiter out of the candidates mentioned on this site?

Recruiting grind is far less important with NIL and Transfer Portal. We need a good X’s and O’s guy that is bought in and relates to his players.

Brian Hartline is the best recruiter in the nation that's not currently in a big time HC role.

That said, recruiting is falling more and more to GM type roles in the new college football front offices.

If LSU hired Hartline I wouldn’t hate it. He has been at the biggest budget athletic department since his playing days.

If we would go with the best top assistant available, Brian Hartline is the way to go for sure. Young, offensive minded, successful, and an amazing recruiter. I'm really warming up to the idea of him being our next coach, actually.

I believe he would do great things but not certain LSU would take the chance.

Cash money is the best recruiter now.
