I think someone from the BOS needs to issue a press release saying clearly that Gov Landry will NOT be involved. This thing, IMO, is going to scare some potential Coaches away from the job. I’m surprised there hasn’t already been some kind of statement. Or, are the BOS scared of Landry like the Republicans are scared of Trump?

Half of them are his appointees with more coming in the next few months, IIRC.

The people who should be telling him to quiet down are the big money boosters, many of whom probably helped finance his campaign. I imagine things will settle down a bit after yesterday. I just can't imagine many of those people enjoy LSU being the laughing stock of the sports world as it has been for the last day or 2.

How many threads are we going to start about the same topic?

This is hilarious to watch.

Folks keep saying “Landry’s involvement” like he’s personally drawing up plays. The guy wanted a strong leader at LSU who’ll hold people accountable nothing wrong with that. Every governor has weighed in on LSU at some point. It’s politics as usual, but the narrative that he’s scaring coaches away is pure drama.

The media loves stirring the pot.

Landry said he will not personally be involved.

This will be forgotten next week when we have a university president.

Uncertainty is always a problem.

Having said that certainty is coming. The BoS and/or the new President will establish the process. Most likely a search committee and possibly a search firm.

While Landry’s comments were ill timed and caused some confusion it will be cleared up and there will be clarity for agents and prospective candidates.

Everyone just needs to take a breath and wait until we see the process and who will be a part of it prior to calling it a disaster.

Catastrophe syndrome is alive and well it seems.

You realize that members of the BOS are appointed by the governor right?
