I think it is a fair question to ask regularly.
Are you addicted to the emotional response that accompanies an outlandish political story?

I am addicted to being pissed off at Panicqans who bitch and moan about every single fricking thing this President does. Meanwhile, if Kamala was in power, a lot of the Panicans would be thrown in jail or their Podcast show silenced

1000%. That’s all my feed on X is…is outrage/engagement farmers saying the same shite over and over.
But people don’t realize that their algorithm is what is feeding their outrage and clicks and anger. In turn, cause division.
Social media is poison. And the big problem anymore is that most people don’t know how to handle it. Therefore, their algorithm is handling them.

Outrage equals more engagement on social media and TV media. It's pushed on purpose.

Absolutely not. But there is a willing audience that eats that stuff up… even when it’s entirely fake or a taken out of context sound bite. But they want confirmation of their feelings, biases etc… We see it posted here with some regularity. That’s the intentional misinformation that helps to further damage our already fractured society.

alot of Boomers dont even know most of the rage bait accounts on Twitter, Facebook are ran by Indians or Non Americans who get paid off impressions.

They’re all over my feed.
A lot of them right now are “raise your hand if you think Trump is destroying the country!” followed by 5,000 responses.
Then your typical left wing accounts that get paid by the DNC who also don’t even believe what they’re actually posting.

There’s a whole industry of people whose job is to wake up every morning to find ways to make you upset and keep you upset.

Our controllers refer to it as desensitizing.
Unless you’re posting a solution there is no point is posting about the lunatic left.

You think corresponding about daily news is being outraged? Fed up with corrupt politicians making policy in order to stay in power instead of working for ths people is a better way to describe it.

Anybody (including myself) who posts here frequently who says "no" to this question is a liar, even if the person they are lying to is themselves.
What I'm more concerned about are the people addicted to conspiracy theories.

This is nothing new. We've had a Righteous Indignation Industry for fifty years. It's like crack back in the day, and the MSM are the pushers.

Crack wouldn't exist without consumers who love it. Same applies to outrage or righteous indignation.

If you honestly think that it’s just one side, you’re about as ignorant as the X outrage farmers.

I thought you were talking to the site. Not the general public. Of course there are people on the Left and Right who stayed outraged.

Hate is used for control and is definitely addictive. Highly recommend anyone to read (don’t watch a movie) 1984.

I'm concerned about the ruling apparatus that keeps giving people a reason to believe them.

I'm fascinated by the self-centeredness of people losing their goddamn minds, recording a video, and sharing it "wherever" to get clicks and views. It's like a drug for these people who view their value as a human being based upon how many views their videos get. It's like the "roast me" thing on Reddit a few years ago.

No. I like serious discussion/debate of ideas. Outrage is a method of avoiding it.
