Our Canadian mfg that we own uses imperial.
Out US based mfg that does the same things out of steel instead of aluminum uses metric.

There’s a bit more to this. Apparently Carney and Trump were making progress, and Ford went rogue on his own. I suspect Carney called Ford and told him to back off.

To be fair - Trump's tariff policies more closely align with the Democratic Party of the 70s and 80s than that of Reagan and Republicans. The latter largely argued that unilaterally allowing entry into our markets was good for consumers (there were a few small exceptions - like saving Harley Davidson). While the Democrats argued for "fair trade not free trade."

Canada is rushing from one stupidity to another.
They used a Reagan speech where he was explaining why he was putting tariffs on our good friends in Japan as retaliation against their protection policies. And they did so without permission.
They chopped and mutilated the speech to have Reagan say the exact opposite!
They are interfering in our domestic political process. “Canada, Canada, Canada!”
And this is all the result of the Canadians getting their panties in a bunch because Trump wants fair trade like Reagan in that address they misquoted. They decided to “go elbows up” and go to war with the U.S. The leadership decided to go on a global visitation searching for allies. They scored none as country after country secured trade deals with Trump.
Thousands of “Canadian jobs” are fleeing south! The USMCA is coming up and Trump isn’t negotiating and using this ham handed ignorant commercial as the excuse.
Canada needs to wake up, smell the coffee, put their elbows down, and talk nice nice to Trump. But they won’t.
