Charlotte airport: Getting from E gates to A gates is over a 20 minute walk

Absurd how far away the E gates (mostly regional aircraft) are from the rest of the gates. If you have a tight connection there, you are often royally screwed.

Then don't book tight connections there.

Yep, I've definitely had my share of those in Charlotte. Seems to occur here more frequently than anywhere else I fly through.

used to really enjoy that airport when it was a USAirways hub, but American has overloaded the place, I try to only connect there if I'm on mainline aircraft because of the E gates issue.

Charlotte is very high on the avoid at all costs list. Just an absolute overcrowded hell hole.

Luckily American being a garbage airline makes it easy to want to avoid Charlotte

It takes about 10 minutes to get from B14 to E24. You are slow my guy.

Is this really any different than Atlanta or DFW?

Worst airport in America IMO.
My flight always arrives in A39 and my connectis E 4,645
I avoid that airport at all costs and no longer fly american because of that airport

Atlanta is an incredibly easy connection airport.
20 minutes is enough to traverse the farthest stretch and will leave you time to pee before boarding.
The train is in the middle of each concourse.

You're connecting from Delta to American?

That's why they have those nice rocking chairs, so you can take a rest.

I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t mind the Charlotte airport. I haven’t connected there many times, but never thought negatively about it. Nice facilities, good selection of shops/restaurants/bars, clean.

I go through 3 or 4 times a year and its not that bad.
I honestly like getting the steps which are hard to come by when traveling.

There's a very good sushi bar right in the middle of one of the concourses. Expensive but the sashimi was excellent and plentiful.

there are bars set up right next to the boarding gates
. CLT isn’t close to the worst airport…that would be Orlando

I’m well aware how Atlanta is. I’m also well aware of how CLT is. My point was I don’t think CLT is by far the worst. My point, and I disagree with you completely, if you only have 20 mins I wouldn’t want to risk that connection at CLT, ATL, or DFW. Not sorry but that’s not a ton of time in any of them. Doable at all 3 mostly, but not easily in the worst conditions and most busy.

Don't work for companies that book your travel for you. It's not hard to manipulate the major portals to get what you want.
