He could be a fairly cheapish option and probably has a huge axe to grind and win at the highest level.

He was anti NIL and took too long to come around at okie st but lsu has a much better system in place to assist with that.

To suck it up and eat the buyout of Brian Kelly, not many win now coaches like gundy and maybe won’t command 10 mill plus

For head coach? Absolutely not.

LSU would be the best or 2nd best job in the country if it became available this season butting up against Penn State and Florida. In no way would you fire Brian Kelly to hire Mike Gundy.

We have to get creative with the situation we are in.

A guy like Gundy that can come in and monitor / control all aspects of the offense and serve as an assistant head coach would be a good example of how to get creative. He's a guy that has always done more with less. That's usually indicative of having a clear philosophy that you can coach to.

I have no idea if Gundy is the right guy. But, I think finding a guy like that is the right move.

Mike Gundy would set the program back generations... we'd be back in the Curly Hallman days.

Looking at lesser thought of candidates I like Jeff Brohm at Louisville. He’s coached at Purdue and Louisville who are lower end teams in power conferences and yet turned them into winning programs and is 4-4 at those schools against top 5 teams. That’s pretty impressive given the comparison of BKs record in big games and that’s at schools like ND and LSU.

He’s born and raised in Louisville though and probably wants to be there

Gundy could be reasonable cause he wouldn’t command top dollar after BK buyout, we give him an opportunity to win big, as well as his resume top notch compared to most. If it’s not working in 3-4 years we move on easy.

ETA: I rather this than watch Brian Kelly 3 more years
