That is BK's buyout......like it or not you will have to keep him 3 more years..no matter what. That brings the buyout down to a manageable 28 million. Meanwhile we have to endure........

BK is not being bought out this year or next year.

Plain and simple.

I like Woodward and I think he sincerely cares about the program but I don't know how you can let him make the next hire or negotiate the contract.

It’s 90% not 100% but you’re right.

I think people continue to overlook how over Brian Kelly is with the experiment. Kelly has been on the golf course from day one and seemingly has even less excuses each passing week.

Instead of waiting 2-3 seasons I expect both parties to agree to a reduced buyout. This isn't based on anything besides the inevitable stalemate, and it's going to get weird for the Kelly's if this season tanks.

What is the buyout after next season? Because he’s not getting fired before then. The sad part is we know it’s going to be rough rebuild next year so that will mean he may have an excuse for a lot of losses, and win an unexpected game or two and we won’t be rid of him at the end of next year either.

People on this board act like it’s the first time buyers remorse has happened with LSU football coaches.

I still love coach O but face it, after he got paid, he checked out. Kelly on the other hand is still chopping wood.

O was dead to rights with all kinds of off the field issues and fat Scotty boy didn’t get 1 cent off the buy out. BK and his agent aren’t going to just agree to go away. Scott is easily the worst negotiator in the country as an AD

If you think money will be the reason we keep him 3 more years, you are just as delusional as anyone who thinks we would fire him for losing the Vandy game in Nashville when they are ranked.

If he drops 3 more games and does something similar next season, or if he does even worse (6-6, then 5-7) He will be terminated.

If he isn’t checked out, then he really fricking sucks at his job. Which may be worse.

We will never accomplish anything as long as he’s here.

Meanwhile in 3 years your direct football revenue goes from $50 million to $30 million a year.

But, muh, buyout.

What is Kelly's incentive to do reduce his buy out? It's guaranteed money for just phoning it in.

The only bargaining chip I see that LSU has is to pay a lower amount up front rather than the full amount over time. Unless the school can find a "for cause" reason, I see this as their only negotiation point. Am I missing something else?

The only bargaining chip LSU has is to use his ego against him and have the media, fans, boosters, continually ridicule his performance. He's not going to take that for long.

What competent Offensive Coordinator would come and work for him in 2026 (with the exception being that he fires Sloan now and replaces Sloan with a competent interim OC already within the staff)?
