Well we need to at least question the draft.

The Bucs would blitz the frick out of Shough.

he isn't a mobile QB.

McCoy just got lost for the season.

Our defense most likely won't be able to stop Tampa's offense.

This coming up game has all the elements to not start him.

but if they do and he does fricking suck then I'd rather not here any bitching from the weird arse crowd that thinks he'll make a difference.

It was a bullshite pick in the first place.

I definitely don't think shough will make a difference. I would like to see him play though, I would like to watch him develop. I think we know what the ceiling is with rattler already.

Or maybe he’s just not as good as Rattler?

no explosive RB's to work with for Rattler.

Olave has his good moments but sure as shite has his bad ones.

Same with Juwan Johnson who the Saints extended.

still not sold on the O-line which the Saints have used a lot of high end picks on in the draft.

Shough's fragile injury history concerned me from the jump. I'll root for whoever is out there though.

Every time I see some moron on here or X post this stupidity…….. I immediately know that no one should listen to them

Shough was a better runner and more mobile in college. He is a better athlete by every metric. FFS bruh, Saints fans are fricking retarded lol

Agreed, and this is coming from someone who wanted him to start against the Giants

and yet here we are entering week 8 and Coach Moore still has Rattler as the starter

Almost like he is saying something about Shough without actually saying anything

Not sure how people think this is the fix. Would still likely have the same record. Embrace a high draft pick.

Its not about fixing the team, its about seeing what we have in shough when it doesnt matter otherwise and thus is pointless not to get that data. We sacrafice nothing to find out what shough has got.

i mean what do immobile Qb's do to beat blitzes? audible to screens and draws and hot routes. You do not have to just scramble to beat a blitz.

Shough is literally superior to Rattler in every single athletic measurement. You can dog on him all you want, but pretending his mobility won't be a strength is fricking stupid.

You are absolutely correct! This is why Brady and other people have made comments about how far QB play has fallen. This lays squarely at the feet of fans who want “running QBs”…..so you end up with a bunch of athletes trying to play QB instead of QBs who just happen to be athletic.

The problem with that is most of them do not learn to process information and REALLY read defenses because they rely on their athleticism. Then when their body starts breaking down……they are terrible (Cam Newton).

But all I keep hearing is that “we need a running QB” or some variation of that. You don’t “need” a running QB…..you need a smart QB that can attack all areas of the field. It’s a bonus if he has the ability to run.

Shough ran a pro style offense at Louisville and used his legs to get out of trouble and had some designed runs. I honestly have serious doubts on whether or not Shough will be the answer (the odds are against it), but we KNOW that Rattler isn’t the answer. So continuing to run Rattler out there, when Shough should be getting reps to learn and develop……..is pure fricking stupidity

Or there is something we don't know about in practice that's keeping him sidelined. If Shough looked great in practice we'd hear about it. Not a fricking peep about him since the season started.

Kellen Moore isn't stupid. He knows damn well that this team has major problems and trotting out your rookie QB for evaluation to only lose games is not building confidence in him. It sets him up for failure.

You will not see Shough until after the bye. Which is the right call at this point

There were two spots to start him: Week 5 so he could play vs the Giants and Patriots

Or after the Bye

He probably has to scramble to beat a blitz

In their draft class, only Jalen Milroe was a worse passer than Shough vs the blitz. 58% comp vs the blitz. Only Max Brosmer was worst vs pressure - Shough was a 42% passer vs pressure.

Of course whoever our QB is will be under constant duress, especially with McCoy out now.

The roster is not good. It doesn't matter who coaches and which one of our QBs in on the field. The roster, as a whole, is below average.
