From boomtown to ghost town: The population 'tsunami' heading for America that will decimate families... and the country

America is facing a demographic nightmare that could change the nation forever.
For decades, experts warned that falling birth rates would eventually chip away at population growth. But few imagined the reckoning would come this soon - or this brutally.
A cascade of new reports reveal that the US is on track to record a population drop, for the first time ever, in 2025. The milestone has shocked demographers and spurred dire warnings from some of the world's most influential voices.

Among them is tech billionaire Elon Musk, who calls population depletion a 'greater threat to civilization than climate change.'
'The population isn't collapsing - it has collapsed,' Musk - who has fathered at least 14 children with four women - warned bluntly on X. 'The shoreline is receding and no one understands the tsunami about to hit us.'
According to a September study by the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute (AEI), America could lose around 6,000 people in 2025.
The US Census Bureau recorded just 519,000 births in 2024, far below the boom years of the 1960s, when the American birth rate reflected an average of 3.5 children per woman.

Today, the total fertility rate stands at 1.6 births per woman, well under the replacement level of 2.1 needed to sustain a population without immigration.
Tesla boss Elon Musk (pictured left with son X Æ A-Xii) says America is headed for a dangerous population collapse

While this rate has been drifting downward for decades, the recent plunge has it reaching what experts call 'knife-edge dangerous' levels.
At the same time, the AEI projects that increased deportations and border restrictions under President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown will lead to a net loss of 525,000 migrants in 2025.
For the first time in living memory, both the native-born population and immigration inflows are shrinking at the same time.

University of Pennsylvania economist Jesús Fernández-Villaverde wrote in The American Enterprise that the drop in fertility heralds an 'existential economic crisis' that will dent the national turnover by 'quadrillions of dollars.'

This is a good thing. End immigration and get the illegals out. There is nothing wrong with a modest population decline. You only have to go back to 1990 and our population was 250 million. Now, we’re pushing 350 million. That kind of growth is unsustainable and has destroyed our culture.

It is what happens when laws dictate a man can only have one wife while lawyers get paid billions, cumulatively, to shake a man down under the guise of child support.

Don't forget, government gets their percentage of that support as well.

A population drop helps solve two huge issues

1. The rise in AI replacing future workers means there will be less jobs.

2. Housing costs. Less competition for houses means lower housing costs.

Well, there it is. It's not that the overall population is decreasing, but more so that the specific, genetic population which created American Culture is being "Replaced", via Replacement Theory/Strategy.

I wonder if Elon thinks that Genes matter, in regard to issues of Human survival and prosperity?

Poor ole Humanity; it's so hard to thread the needle. Lord come quickly.

I would be more interested in what the demographics are of the 6k lost. That would tell the better story...

It costs $200k to send a kid to Bama for 4 years and many people can’t even afford a house.

Then you add in these fourth wave feminist women and this is what you get.

Japan has been going through a similar issue, for a decade plus. One of the solutions has been families with 3 or more children get their educations, from child care to university, for free. Others, on flights on Japanese airlines, a 3rd child flies free. There are also "dating parties" where the sexes meet in groups for social parties as one way for the sexes to meet. Son has lived there for 7+ yrs & says dating issues are part of the population decline......there are obviously fewer marriages.
