Effective immediately China sanctioned five U.S. subsidiaries of South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean, escalating tensions with Washington.
The order will prohibit Chinese organizations and individuals from doing business with the sanctioned companies.

Sounds like the US is directly over the target.

More reasons to disconnect from that evil empire and get back to production in America.

Sad part is our politicians have allowed them to become part of our fabric.

China is a problem we don’t have an answer for

This is Trump’s biggest gamble yet. The markets are extremely volatile and founded on emotion. Herbert Hoover employed tariffs that are widely regarded as having precipitated the depression. If Trump pulls off correcting the market inequities without causing a market collapse it will be his greatest achievement.
After watching him these past several years…I’m not betting against him.

China is desperately grasping for individual pressure levers (e.g., South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean) like a rock climber who realizes all his pitons are breaking loose as he's falling.

Well, the media is grasping for anything to paint OMB as "bad"... Has been a pretty rough year for them so far...

Nice misleading title. One stock (the company impacted) dropped - “markets” are flat near the open this morning.

Sanctions are a whole other game.
So sanction Russia sale of oil to China.
China sees themselves at war with us. They don't care if it take a century to win it either.
When you find yourself in a hole *Side eye to Congressmen- past & present* quit digging.

I’ve had bigger plummets in the quad.

Man I was hoping it plummeted to buy in.
But it did not plummet.

Trump has no control over this obviously.., the rest of the world clearly set on finding ways to work around America… because they know the final result of all this shite is higher prices for Americans…which will naturally cause a change and leadership and policy next election…only the naive believe manufacturing jobs that don’t exist nowhere in the world now will somehow comeback stateside

Trump needs to sort this crap out soon. Getting in the way of my growing Warhammer collection.

Trump is trying to level the playing field and make things better for America after all is said and done. Conversely, the Political Establishment boys like Biden, Obama, and Bush all bent over and took it up the keister.
I don't bring it to the board because the usual suspects love to hijack any real, substantive discussion here, but I keep up with a couple of knowledgeable sources who have been talking about the fragility of China's economic system, part of which is due to advantages they've had regarding the previous UNILATERAL tariffs situation with the United States.
Basically, China's economic system is a house of cards (and other things like their shaky banking system). That nation could be headed for much trouble in the months ahead.
