I'm not going to sit here and say we are some great team, b/c we aren't, but I find it hilarious that we are underdogs to Vandy, and that it seems most people are picking Vandy to win.

Here's who Vandy has played

1 and 6 Charleston Southern. Congrats on your 45-3 win.
2 and 5 Va Tech, who got killed by Old Dominion causing Va Tech to fire their coach 3 games into the season.
3-3 South Carolina, where they targeted and knocked out Sellers in the 2nd quarter when the game was 7-7, and SC didn't score again without Sellers.
1-5 Georgia State, Congrats on your 70-21 win
3-3 Utah State, who put up 35 against Vandy
Bama, who held them to 99 yards of total offense in the 2nd half, and only punted once in this game.

They aren't that good. Not saying we'll win easily, b/c we know how to play bad, but if we play just a decent game, and don't turn the ball over, we'll win by 10+.

Key stat:
Vandy is 2nd in the country in 3rd down conversion at 58% (LSU at 42%)
LSU Defense is 28th in the country in 3rd down defense at 32% (Vandy at 37%).

It's still Vandy.

This aint your daddy's vandy. Those dudes are good and they play hard and have a good coach. Pavia got that dog in him and reminds me of Baker Mayfield.

I think if any program could benefit from NIL era it would be Vandy as I'm sure they have a lot of donor money that could flow in if there was any hope of them being relevant.

We going to roll these guys. Offense will move the ball again but without the turnovers. Defense will strap up Pavia

It'll be a fight, every game is with this offense, and i think their QB runs a bunch, which isn't good for Baker

Bama will hold us to 99 yards of total offense the entire game

Vandy has the #2 offense in the SEC and a D on par with Ole Miss. So, LSU will have to do something it hasn't done yet in SEC play - score more points.

It's a good Vandy team, but they're still not SEC elite

Who is a better runner, Pavia or Sellers?

Well it helps when your schedule is full of FCS quality opponents.

I’m with OP on this. Vandy’s stats and rankings are suspect because they haven’t played anybody.

If we don’t turn the ball over we win. Yep.

Watching SC game, that’s a big if. Maybe Nuss gets better this week, plays better next week. Running better might help him?

Give me the same offensive performance that we got with SC without the TO and LSU wins by 14+.

Vandy is pretty good and its a home game. LSU has a great D but is objectively bad offensively

This year? Pavia. And it’s not particularly close. Last year they were basically the same. Sellers hasn’t really been good this year.

not at all.

Vandy is legit with a good QB.

You are looking at the logo on the helmet and not the 2025 team.

They are ok and so is Pavia. They'll end up going around 7-5. Pavia didn't do much at all against our terrible defense last year. Tell me why I should be worried about him this year.

Their alumni base doesn't give a damn about sports. They have a ton of out of state and foreign money. They don't care about Vandy football. Look at their crowds when they're good. Opposing fans still take over their tiny stadium. There are plenty of schools with a lot of money that will never compete consistently in big time college football. Northwestern, Stanford, and Duke all have more money than Vandy and look at what they're doing right now (not much)

against P4 teams Pavia hasn't been very good. He's only played 3 games against P4 teams this year, Alabama, Va Tech, and South Carolina.

His numbers are 51/78 (65%) for 568 yards (189 ypg) 5 TDs, 3 INTs. He's also rushed for 143 yards on 34 carries (4.2 ypc and 48 ypg).

So he's averaging about 240 ypg of total offense and 1.5 TDs and 1 turnover and now he's supposed to be the next Baker Mayfield or Johnny Manziel?

Based on what exactly? Because he talks a lot of shite? He's not very good.

Pavia will definitely look to give the ball away. If we can play disciplined defensively and not let him/them have explosives he may start to force it.

The one thing I noticed about Vandy in the Bama game, is that their defense is very physical. They were popping pads. Probably less talented than Florida’s unit but Lea is a good coach and that entire team is bought in.

Vandy is a scrappy and dangerous team that should be taken seriously. This isn't the Vandy of old that we are used to. This is a team that has a huge chip on their shoulder and are coming in pissed off after a loss to Bama that was closer than the final score indicated.

They had chances to take command of that game early and blew it.

Until our offense improves and our QB play gets better, we will continue to be underdogs until the Arkansas game.

...brought to you by the same people who found it "hard to believe" the line flipped in favor of Ole Miss very quickly.

The people who set the lines aren't doing so within a built-in bias of "hating LSU" (because we all know everyone hates LSU....all the time). There is a lot of objective data that goes into setting the line. Right now that data doesn't show a particularly great LSU team. In fact, the predictive data shows Vandy is better than LSU at home.

(If the game were in BR LSU would have opened as a ~5 point favorite)
