Looking for new scope have no preference getting a Bergara B14 HMR 7mm prc.

The CDS feature in the leupolds are great. I just added one to a new rifle I pieced together this year.
CDS compatible models range from the freedom model all the way through the VX6HD, so you can basically pick which one fits your budget.

Budget, and what do you want? A basic duplex reticle or a dialing long range scope?
Trijicon is my current go to. They are reliable and have an option for every use, from $400 basic scopes to $2800 fancy pantsy stuff.

You gotta give people something to work with. You can kill a deer with iron sights. How do you hunt, how heavy is too heavy, and how much money are you willing to spend?

I have a leupold vx3-hd with the cds and a trijicon accupoint, I like them both equally and it's hard to choose between the 2, but, the cds on the leupold would be better suited for the 7mm prc once you have it dialed in and ammo preference

Budget friendly or is money no concern?

With this rifle are you looking for extreme distance accuracy?

Budget friendly. And I am basically just asking what you would get I just have not bought a new scope before.

This. Trijicon Huron. Under $500, extremely reliable. Best bang-for-buck for a simple hunting scope.

Accupoint 3-9x40 is a little bit better (illuminated reticle) and also bomb-proof for about $150 more. It's a lot of scope for $650.
No way I'd get a leupold anymore with trijicon being more reliable and usually cheaper.
If you want a long range rig, SWFA 3-15 gen 2 is where it's at. About $800 but totally bombproof and dials very reliably. Costs about half what a trijicon or nightforce dialing scope costs.

IIRC that's a 9lb+ rifle so I would look at a light scope like a Vortex Razor LHT.

I have a Razor HD and a Trijicon Huron, both in a similar zoom range. The LHT is nearly three times the price of the Trijicon and I have a very, very difficult time telling mine apart.

Agreed. I have the vx6-hd on my 28 nosler. The cds is pretty legit if you’re wanting to shoot mid to long range, but I find the leupolds aren’t that great for low light situations. They aren’t terrible, but there’s better options.
I have a trijicon accupoint on my 35 whelen. It’s a great scope for low light, but it’s not as good as the leupold for longer range shots.
I also have a Leica. It’s extremely good in low light, but it’s a bit pricey.

the .308 of hunting scopes is the Leupold VX5 HD 3-15x44.
It has great glass, light, and for the 7mm PRC has enough zoom to reach out if you ever want to shoot out to 500yd+

Check out trijicon. I have a ten mile mounted on a rifle . Great reliable scope, custom dial for the load I shoot. Light up reticle green or red.
Leopold is always a great choice. I have a vx6 on a 28 nosler . Can’t go wrong with either brand imo.

Have the same scope with the firedot. For me, it is probably one of the best scopes I've used or owned.

Trijicon has done a great job with their new lines of scopes. I have a Credio 2.5-14-42. I love it.

I have the LHT and can say that I've got nothing bad to say, but it's also not something I would rave about either. Not a lot available in the weight range, but for the price it doesn't seem to remotely compare to something like my Nightforce NX8, which I know is more expensive, but noticeably better to me. And I'm not super picky.

Vortex hog hunter 50mm. Excellent scope for deer hunting if you like a large field of view.

Midway USA had a massive sale on all of their Vortex scopes. I got everything from cheap vortex diamondbacks that came on package guns to Vortex Viper PST Gen II.. All great for the money but there are plenty of budget friendly options that are excellent.

Nikon no longer makes rifle scopes.
