How many folks have planted?

I’ve got it all disced up, just waiting for a for sure rain.

I haven’t done anything. We don’t plant until end of October, first of November. Anything earlier is just competing with summer grass. I’m sure most would disagree but that’s my philosophy

I planted last weekend

Probably should have waited, but I didn’t want to take time out of opening weekend to plant and I’m going to the next 3 LSU games.

Seed should sit fine in the ground until it rains. Any bare spots I’ll just overseed in early November

I’m in the same dilemma. Headed to Lincoln and Caddo Parishes this weekend to disc. Might plant Caddo because my son can go plant Lincoln whenever I need him to before a rain.

Disced & planted in LaSalle Parish this morning after shaking my magic 8 ball.

Caught a gusher as I strapped down the tractor on the gooseneck. God is good! ????

Still waiting here. October 15 used to always be my planting weekend however last two years have planted and plants struggled due to drought. This year will plant on or after it when I am certain rain is coming. Would like a few rains before then to help with ground moisture.

Woodville here. Gonna disc next week and plant probably the weekend after. Too hot and dry right now. I’ve planted early before and army worms tore my shite up

We've been waiting to plant until 2nd week of November in Mississippi and have had the prettiest plots well into the late season as a result.

I understand people get antsy and see those planting dates on the back of the bag, but given seasonal patterns, it looks like this year will track like the rest, therefore, so shall we.

In my area it's still 90+ degrees, cattle farmers are already feeding hay to their cows because the grass is dead, and we're in a bad drought. The only thing we would accomplish is to clog up an air filter twice as fast and waste a ton of money on seed and fertilizer with a dismal germination rate.

We've got the big plots plowed, if weather patterns look like they're inevitably going to turn to more moist conditions, we'll disk it up, but I'm still waiting until later on to sow and cultipack. I grew tired of watching my plots get hammered by crows and turkeys for 45 days while they baked away in the sun and we wound up hunting mud pits by mid January.

Planning on discing and planting oats and wheat this weekend. I'll come back and broadcast my clover and brassicas over the top right before a rain. Very north part of Webster Parish.

Sprayed last Saturday....waiting another week and will plant when we have sure rain and follow up rain in forecast after that.

I'm a little outside my planting window according to Grant Woods...but he doesnt know how dry SWMS is in October either.

Drilling:
Oats
Wheat
Crimson Clover

Broadcasting:
Hazlett Rye over it all

Plots are clipped. Will watch the weather and plant accordingly when I return from Missouri. Will spray plots with glyphosate and use a no till drill to plant the following day. Planting Stratton Bounty Hunter:
Oats, Rapeseed, Crimson Clover, Purple Top Turnips, Wheat and Winter Peas. Will also add Elbon Rye at 40 lbs/acre.

I really don't know. I have wheat out right now that's growing but I have zero rain in the forecast in north MS.

Anyone use a firminator type tool or just spray and drill into it without disking?
