as we get into a new season I'd like to share some of my camp's most memorable lines and also one of my favorites we have posted above the coffee machine that we cant take credit for.
"There ain't no deer, out here."
"I ain't never cooked no horns."
In response to hunters hitting the snooze button too much. :Opens door: “You don’t like to hunt…”
“Getting up too early is a vice habitual in horned owls, stars, geese, and freight trains. Some hunters acquire it from geese, and some coffee pots from hunters. It is strange that of all the multitude of creatures who must rise in the morning at some time, only these few should have discovered the most pleasant and least useful time for doing it.”
- Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac and Sketches Here and There

"Don't ever worry about losing out on any of these three things: Big Bucks, Beautiful Women, or Business Deals. Just be patient and you'll have a chance at a better one, and sooner than you think."

Basically the entirety of Ruark's The Old Man and the Boy
quote:
The best thing about hunting and fishing,' the Old Man said, 'is that you don't have to actually do it to enjoy it. You can go to bed every night thinking about how much fun you had twenty years ago, and it all comes back clear as moonlight.

As a kid I heard, "Quit looking up, you'll flare 'em!" more times than I care to admit.

“Needed another year”
“Don’t pass up on the first day what you would shoot on the last day”

There should never be a limit on fish, ducks, or women. They are all too unpredictable and you should mop up when you get your chance.

This is exactly what I was coming here to post. Great book full of great lines.
quote:
"Hunting," the Old Man said, "is the noblest sport yet devised by the hand of man. There were mighty hunters in the Bible, and all the caves where the cave men lived are full of carvings of assorted game the head of the house drug home. If you hunt to eat, or hunt for sport for something fine, something that will make you proud, and make you remember every single detail of the day you found him and shot him, that is good too.

I love it when we have a good race going and someone sees a good buck...and someone (usually Bubba) comes on the radio and yells "DUMP THE WHOLE DAMN BOX!"
When the tailgate drops the bullshite stops

“Ain’t going to kill em at the camp”
“Somebody needs to watch the road”
“Aim small, miss small”
“Damn wind”

The best way to never shoot a big buck is to keep shooting little ones.

"This place would kill a normal mf'er"
"If you're gonna be stupid, better be tough"
"Can't un-frick em" --In response to hearing one of our younger members knocked up his girlfriend.
