What was your experience leaving home and staying in a college dorm?

Did you struggle making the adjustment or what it easy? Did anyone get homesick?

Lots of sex made the transition easier.

College girls were free to roam, too.

Exciting times

I was wild in college and loved it. Never got homesick. Didn’t want to leave LSU.

Went to a juco and banged chicks. Big, skinny, ugly, uglier, cute, pretty… nothing was off the table as far as females went. Had the time of my life and would do it again in a heart beat. Didn’t miss home a bit.

I was having a ball, making friends, romances with coeds, the works.

But I got a little homesick when I found out a few weeks after the fact that my sister was hospitalized and dealing with a serious illness. I felt very disconnected from my family and the outside world in general.

I realized that I hadn’t seen a tv show or watched the news or followed sports or read a paper in months. The Iran/Contra scandal was dominating the news cycle, and I was like, “Who the F is Oliver North?”..

It’s a miracle I didn’t kill myself. Possibly the lowest time of my life.

It would have been great if I didn’t have a roommate.

Don't remember the number, but I was on 3rd floor northwest side, about where the elevator is now located. Was there '56-'57

It was fine for me - I had yet to be introduced to any sort of luxury. - only things I didn't like were the communal rest rooms - and one phone per section.

I loved every minute of it. Got with chicks I wouldn’t even look twice at under different situations. I am lucky to be alive. Never wanted my LSU experience to end.

Disconnect is good choice of words.

My freshman year remember drinking late at bar one night and they had CNN on and they were televising Desert Storm live. First time you could watch a war live on television.
