I’ve been telling y’all: you might not want to be a Mormon but you don’t mind having one for a neighbor.
From Luke, Chapter 6-
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
I don’t do that, therefore you’d rather have a Mormon for a neighbor than me.

The Mormons are good people. Their leadership may suck but so does Joel Osteen and bishops that cover for pedo priests.
There, I said it.

Although I obviously think they are off the reservation theologically, I give Mormons great credit for actually living their faith.
The average Mormon does a much better job of living up to their purported values than most other religions and denominations.
They in general practice what they preach which is commendable.

Well the mormans don't have race pimps who know what information to get out there to get people worked up and ready to open up their wallets.

Yes indeed.
They are great people to live around.

Their incentive for being good is that they are gods in the making and will have their own planets and such. Good is fake as this is like being a hostess at Applebees for a minute while you’re becoming an equal to God the father and look at Jesus and satan as actual brothers

You’re welcome to debate Mormons on theology, of course, but doesn’t criticizing their logic in this way mirror the exact same arguments atheists use against Christian morality (ie. morality is subjective, absent biblical teachings)?
If Mormon morality is fake because it promises reward, how do you square that with the Bible’s own reward structure?

No sir, that's not how Christianity works at all.
Certainly, faith without works is dead, but you doing good works will not get you into Heaven.
Mormons may be nice people, but thier beliefs are fundamentally very different from Christians.

I get that you want to draw a hard line between Christianity and Mormonism, but the incentive structure looks the same. Both tie belief and behavior to a future reward. Heaven in your case, planets or whatever the frick in theirs. With either one it’s still “obey now, get paid later.”
The problem is that if you dismiss Mormon morality as fake because it’s reward-driven, then you’ve also dismissed the standard Christian argument (used on this board all the time, check the 'afterlife' threads) that morality itself comes from Christianity. If morality can’t rest on reward, then the promise of heaven doesn’t make Christian morality any more “real” than theirs.
Either both systems are incentive-based, or you have to concede that morality can exist apart from eternal reward. Which undercuts the claim that it only comes from Christianity.Which is fine but you have to willing to concede that to support the argument that the guy I responded to made.

I dont think ive ever met a Mormon who wasn't nice as all hell.
A few years ago i was building fence in July and two younger mormons stopped by to proseletyze. I told them I wasn't interested and then they helped me with the fence for 2 hours.

And that is how they do it. Random acts of kindness.

Tbh, I'd much rather build a fence than go knocking door to door annoying people. Sounds like they found a way to get out of "work".

Good for them for putting their money where their mouth is. Joe and Jane Mormon are usually good folk, a bit nutty but good.

Your very first sentence is completely incorrect.
Christianity is not incentive based.
Good works dont get you into Heaven, and in fact, God looks upon them as filthy rags.
Christianity is based upon Jesus Christ, and we He did for us, not what we do for ourselves.
