Had lithotripsy last Wednesday but the broken pieces are hitting me harder than Carnival Cruisers hit the buffet on crab leg night.

After a dozen earlier in life I went fifteen years without one.

So sorry. One of my biggest fears in life. Good luck with as much pain free passing as possible.

Gotta watch that calcium and vitamin D intake. Have to drink a gallon of water every 30 minutes.

I thought they were more common in men.

(Kidding)

I’ve never had them but I’ve had sciatica and now I am less judgmental of folks’ pain thresholds.

Hope you feel better soon.

Same for me,,, it's crazy that with all of the medical technology we have today, that there isn't a less painful way to remedy this.

Energy drinks are the devil.

the second one actually got stuck coming out of my penis while i was peeing in my office urinal all of a sudden my piss started going crazy like someone put their thumb over the end of a water hose and i looked down and was like WHAT IN THE HELL and pulled it out, rinsed it off and gave it to my dr.

sorry TMI

Ive had a Kidney Stone and they are no joke.
I couldnt even walk I was in so much pain.

I hobbled myself to the bathroom. I kept feeling numbness/tingling sensation in groin, pain in my side area, then having a weird sensation like you have to go but you cant.

It took me 10 minutes to hobble 20 feet to the bathroom.
I was like let me try, before I call EMS, I was close to calling EMS.

I was able to pass the stone and found it in the bottom of the toliet, you coudl visble see it. Havent had one since and never want to have another one.

because the fricking thing jammed the 'door' open from your kidney to your penis.

you gotta wait for it to move further down the urinary tract for that feeling to go away.

I have had 5 or 6 in my life. I feel you. They really suck....

Just pound the water as much as you can stand and they will flush out. It will just not be fun.

I’ve had 1 damn near every year from 2005 thru 2022.

Had surgery 2 times to remove.

Now I just power thru and pass them SOB’s. The last 4 were the size of a sweet pea or chic pea if you know what that looks like. Ouch.

A bottle of water mixed with lemon juice has helped me

Sucks! I recently spit out number 9 and 10. As soon as recognized what it was, I started drinking beer. Helped with pain and makes you piss. After 9 bottles the last stone fired out like a bb.

Had easily over 50. I was a sophomore in college when first one hit. I was lying on dirty, greasy McDonald's bathroom writhing in pain. Had no idea what was happening, but kept thinking this one hell of a way to go !

Not all kidney stones are formed by calcium. I've had over 20 of them so far and have had to get 5 of them taken out under sedation due to the size of them that couldn't be passed normally.

My stones are formed from uric acid, the same thing that causes gout in some people. I had collected about 10 of them I had passed on my own and my urologist had them analyzed by a lab to determine their origins.

I'm on a single pill a day called Allopurinol and that has worked for me for over 2 years with no repeats of stones so far.

Oh, and nobody is drinking a gallon of water every 30 minutes. Who the hell told you that?????

I was hoping it would be but I was wrooooooong. First stone was 6mm. Urologist told me the xrays showed my second stone was 6mm so I thought "Ok I've done this once. I'm prepared". That radiologist needs either glasses or a straight jacket. The second stone was basically two 6mm stones connected together in the shape of a boomerang. Every trip to the bathroom was a screamer for the last 4 weeks. I wept when I finally passed it.

What type of kidney stone?

Myself, hubby, and 3 sons are prone to Calcium Oxalate kidney stones. (not caused by calcium). As a matter of fact, some form calcium is recommended to eat along with foods high in Oxalates.

Foods that contain high amounts of Oxalates such as almonds, spinach, kale, berries, etc..., all healthy foods.

Drink beer. It’s helps get the flow going and you can piss them out.
