Wave Of US Air Tankers Deploy To Europe

OSINT-focused X accounts cite flight tracking data that shows a wave of U.S. air tankers deploying to Europe. The timing coincides with President Trump's scheduled last-minute meeting with senior military leadership in northern Virginia on Tuesday. Historical precedent is very notable here: the last comparable mass tanker deployment preceded U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure by five days.

Russia has ramped up their testing of NATO boundaries since March. From 2022 through February 2025 there were two proven incursions and one suspected one.
November 2022 - Poland
A single Russian missile (likely stray from Ukraine strikes) entered ~40 km into Poland near Przewodów, killing two civilians. NATO assessed as unintentional.
December 2023 - Poland
A Russian missile entered for ~3 minutes near Oserdów before returning to Ukraine. Polish forces monitored but did not engage.
July 24, 2024 - Romania
Air raid sirens activated in Tulcea district; warnings issued for possible drone incursion from Ukraine strikes. No confirmed entry or damage.

In six months we've seen almost 6x more incursions (or near incursions) than we saw in the previous two and a half years. All of this taken together, I would think it's more likely that Trump is showing Putin that he's not Neville Chamberlain and the NATO agreement isn't going to be treated like the Treaty of Versailles.
