When you hear them say “our Democracy,” this is what they mean.

SFP is an expert on Moldovan elections. Hopefully he’ll be here soon to explain why this is perfectly fine.

So your Russian propaganda X source is complaining that their Russian bosses have been stymied from rigging another election, Ivan?
Gee, that's too bad...

Moldova sounds like one of those fictional countries they use in movies.

And that's before you get into Moldovan politics, culture, and daily life. The place feels like a European parody.

The place feels like a European parody.
It never existed as an independent country until the Soviet Union carved it out of eastern Romania (to teach the always recalcitrant Romanians a lesson) and created a separate country and named it Moldavia.
When the Soviet Union broke up, the citizens there renamed their country Moldova.
That's why the predominant ethnic group of Moldova is Romanian, not Russian and why so many of its political leaders' names end in a "U" just like Romanians.
Moldova was the first former Soviet Union country I worked in. I was there for a couple of weeks. Poverty there is palpable.
Moldova's only claim to fame during its Soviet days was it was the main winery for the USSR. Its climate is somewhat milder, and wetter, than the rest of the Soviet republics so it has good conditions to grow grapes.
After the Soviet military removed its hardware from a huge underground cavern, i.e., nuclear bomb proof facility, west of the capital of Chisinau, the locals turned the deep underground cavern which has a constant temperature year round into a massive wine aging facility. Huge casks of wine now sit in spaces cut into the limestone that used to store Soviet military tanks.
I toured that facility as a guest of the Moldovan government when I worked there. It's beautiful and also frightening at the same time because of its original purpose.

That's before you even get to Transnistria

Tell me where you've heard this story before.

Can't have the "right wing" winning elections

Well, see what Trump started? It’s spreading…

quote:Well, after all, after the Greeks invented the concept of democracy a few thousand years ago, Europe continued to be an amalgamation of disjointed monarchies not democracies.
Europe is trying to rig another election. That is their standard and what they call democracy
Then the French Revolution resurrected the idea of a democracy until Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of France.
Of course, your Russian colleagues implemented a brutal dictatorship across much of Eastern Europe for almost a century and Moldova is still struggling to change that mindset in their country. Much of Europe still doesn't quite have the hang of it to practice democracy.
But, if it was up to you and your Russian bosses they would wipe out all hints of democracy in Europe.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has not ruled out that the results of the current parliamentary elections may be annulled due to accusations of interference in the electoral process.
Does this mean the election turned out different than the government wanted it to turn out?

They are just preparing in case it does. You know, Europe's form of Democracy

"Democracy" is just a way for western banksters to buy puppet politicians in other countries and control their regions. Time and time again you see them over throw elections and create coups when things dont go their way. And when that doesnt work they just try to blockade the country economically and starve the people, under some made up reason to sell to main stream news watchers like drug wars, until their puppets can regain power and reopen the country back to the banksters to steal the natural resources for pennies on the dollar.
