The teams that have beaten them are a combined 22-2.

They are wins period.

Nothing else matters. As SEC members, we don’t have to build a resume, just win.

I'll buy it. I like the optimism on this fine Wednesday morning.

Playing Clemson on the road, at night, is a great win.

Florida played Miami much better than expected and I think it’s fair to say their defense is legitimate.

I think LSU is rated. You can’t say at this point if they are under/over rated, they haven’t lost.

Yep. Just hoping we go 1-0 vs Ole Miss this weekend.

I agree with this as well. With a 12-team playoff, there's not as much importance on being the best in the regular season. Get wins under your belt, and no more than 2 losses. Then play your arse off in the playoffs.

Every week is different, and you can't help who you play. They are struggling on offense, but are better playing Southwest PolyTech. Line up and take care of business.

Clemson choking against Syracuse and Florida against USF has nothing to do with us. It doesn't mean Clemson and Florida are worse than Syracuse and USF - it just means they didn't come to play and thought they could walk all over lesser teams. It sucks for our strength of record, but when we beat Ole Miss on Saturday, people will remember why we felt so strongly that we are a contender coming off the Clemson win.

Ole Miss is gonna play very hard and we will have to play perfect to beat them in Oxford.

Both lack quality depth.

Clemson especially their front 7 on defense are NFL players. There is just no one behind them so the get tired.

While the scores were not outstanding, both wins were dominant, especially by the defense. Winning isn't just about going blow for blow with a heavyweight. It is also about doing what you are supposed to do against the scrappers.

LSU is a good team. Anyone who thinks otherwise is foolish. However, the expectations for this season, which are not unreasonable given all of the variables (year 4 for BK, huge investment in the transfer market, 5th year returning starter at QB, etc, etc,) go beyond simply being "good". LSU has been "good" for the last 3 seasons. It's to be a national championship contender.

Defensively LSU looks the part. Offensively they SHOULD look the part...but they don't right now. After watching a team just two seasons ago waste an elite performance on one side of the ball because the other side was well below average, fans have reason to express concern.

Posters in this thread are right. All LSU has to do is win. The point differential is irrelevant. But it's hard to expect the defense to be dominant every game, just like it was hard to expect the offense to be so in 2023. At some point the other side of the ball has to carry their weight because the margin for error between a W and a L in SEC is tight. LSU is going into game 5 now. At some point you start to run out of "the offense is going to get going next week" statements.

Despite Clemson and Florida being what they are… think about this:

LSU will have played Clemson, Florida, and Ole Miss (2 of which on the road) BEFORE PennSt ever kicks off a single P4 game

But they were both ranked when we played them. They have not recovered from those beatings.

OM hasn't played a ranked team yet.

This might be the best, most reasoned post I have ever read on the rant! Well done sir!

disagree. We do not have to play "perfect". LSU has to play physical, smart and limit mistakes. That will be enough to win

LSU's resume is a hell of a lot stronger than Ole Miss's wins vs Georgia State, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tulane

I’m certain Ole Miss will play hard & their fans will be as loud as their cold chicken/whatever finger foods they eat allows them to be. That said, LSU is the better team & they most certainly don’t have to be perfect.
