How many Charlie Kirk’s does it take to get a government which fulfills its function of working on behalf of the American people?

If the GOP doesn’t start delivering results for the right you’re going to see people abandon the system and there won’t be any going back.

Could have avoided all this if the Senate just would have gone into recess.

The question is why didn't they?

IMO, the reason is recess appointments bypasses quid pro quos. That is, "we will confirm your guy if you donate to my campaign".

Now they need to do this and codify voting and immigration reform.

Is this just for Trump’s nominees or everything going forward?

Apparently Senate Republicans are at least smart enough to read the room and realize they would all lose their reelection bids if Charlie Kirk got assassinated for the conservative cause while they can't even confirm Trump's nominees.

ETA: I don't think they should have invoked the nuclear option though. They should have just gone into recess so he could make recess appointments.

Bingo, its why the DOGE cuts dwindled from hundreds of billions to tree fitee.

GOP just a few degrees less than dems.

So basically we paid off our guys versus their guys, its still house (our) money so neither side cares.

Now watch the usual suspects in the R senate not give 51 votes on the actual confirmation vote.
