ULL QB Walker Howard out for the season

KLFY reported a serious oblique injury that would have initially kept him out for 4-6 weeks. Howard will have surgery today and his season is over. Will be eligible for a medical RS.

Would he transfer back to LSU in '26?

I’m not sure it’s season ending. Recovery is 6 weeks. If it is, I’ll be happy with him getting a medical redshirt.
His stat line sucked last week, mainly due to the 6 drops. Of those 6 only one would’ve been a tough catch. He should’ve been 16/22 for 240ish yards and 2 TDs. Instead our WRs sucked.

Wish him nothing but the best and a full recovery. There’s no way he expected his college career to take the path it has.

I did hear about the drops but didn’t realize a couple would have been TDs. Drops are worse than an error in baseball.
How is the back QB?

The backup probably isn’t very good.

How did Shelton Sampson do?

RS-FR Daniel Beale prepped at Catholic BR and very little college PT. Completed 13 of 30 passes for 126 yards in three relief appearances as a true freshman . He will need adequate time to throw the ball and receivers need to make plays

Were any of the drops by Sampson?
Yes- he had 4 at bad times
The new starter at QB was his high school qb fwiw

Wow
What a turn of events
I hope he recovers and is able to play again, if that’s what he wants

I think he’s seen many examples of players experiencing temporary setbacks as their careers develop. Those who hang in there wear it as a badge of honor.
He’ll be fine.

Hopefully, it's Lunch time soon. Beale ain't it. His 4th down pass with the game on the line was pathetic. Hopefully, Walker makes a full recovery. He will be alright. Worst comes to worst he can sell insurance with his dad.

where's TJ Finley when you need him

He's now at Georgia State - his 6th NCAA team.

Coaches are partially responsible for the drops. College and Pro coaches sold out to forty times and height at WR a long time ago, sacrificing ball skills, route running, and overall fundamental solid WR play.
Analytics tell them they can live with a few drops if they still hit on several chunk plays. I call BS. Ask Dallas fans today how they feel about it and CeeDee last night.
