Have some cash on the sidelines because Sept always comes with a discount code.

My exact thought.

Summer is over, let us ignore any market fundamentals and sell. Got to pay for that 3 months of Hookers and Blow in the Hamptons.

To be fair, hasn’t the market thrown out fundamentals for a while now and we have been about 80% over normal P/E the last few months? (Average is around 20-22 and we are around 31)

And while I agree that September and October are usually choppy, it seems a little early for this thread to be made on Sept 2nd before the market even opens.

I see stocks I want and will buy at a discount. Let's take AMZN. It's down Right at 7 per share.

I'm looking for it in the 210s. Will sell calls on it. Sept is historically a negative month.

I know it's September, but was there any other big news released over the weekend?

Is the tariff ruling over the weekend (or was it Friday?) causing some of it? They also had a bunch of manufacturing numbers that came out this morning that slightly missed, but nothing to cause this type of selloff.

So, is it just the tariff stuff along with it being September? I thought this September might be a little different since there's been some bets that the Fed might cut this month. So far, I'm way off on that one.

10 year note yields up a little on fears the gov't will have to reimburse tariffs if the SC upholds the lower court ruling but we'e a long way from that. Still believe the Fed will cut rates this month.
We've had a big run and no surprise market leaders like tech are going to come in a some.
Looking at a place to but TQQQ and SOXL and sell some puts on DPST and HOOD.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the response.

I thought I may have missed some big news but I kept looking and didn't see much from this morning.

Seen some say lack of progress in China talks is also contributing. Idk if I believe that.

I've recently been down the 'peptide' rabbit hole. There's a bunch of them, but your GLP-1's for weight loss are the most famous.

This stuff is so cheap to make that labs in India and China sell it for about $10 for a month's supply.

Then there is an entire market of US venders selling those bottles for $100/month.

Then if you get the branded stuff (Ozempic/Wegovy) it is over $1000 month out of pocket cost.
